In the fall of each year SWAAAE announces the availability of applications and the start of the solicitation process for several $500 - $1,000 scholarships to attend the Airport Management Short Course in Monterey, CA. You must be a member of SWAAAE to apply for this scholarship.

Elita Hawley Central California AFS Endowment Fund Scholarships

The Elita Hawley Central California AFS Endowment Fund is a non-profit corporation, independent from AFS Intercultural Programs, that awards scholarships to students participating in AFS programs. Each year, the Hawley Endowment Fund awards approximately $30,000 in scholarships to students pursuing an AFS study abroad program. The Hawley Endowment Fund will accept applications from prospective AFS students who live in or attend high school in one of the following counties: Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Santa Clara, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare, Calaveras, Tuolumne, Mariposa and San Mateo (Redwood City and south). The Hawley Endowment Fund offers up to two full scholarships (covering the AFS program fee) in the range of $10,000 to $15,000. In addition, the Fund also offers smaller scholarships, including: • Year programs $1,000 to $3,000 • Semester programs $1,000 to $2,000 • Summer and other short programs $500 to $1,000 The Hawley Endowment Fund also selects each year the winner of the Elita Hawley Award, an AFS scholarship, to an outstanding student participating on a year program from the Monterey-Salinas area. Deadlines November 15 for winter/spring departure programs (departing in January or soon thereafter). May 1 for summer/fall departure programs (departing between June and September).
