*Education Aid Announces $5,000 Scholarship Program for Victim of Hurricane
Sandy *

Deadline = June 1, 2013

*Local student will benefit from scholarship program geared towards
families affected by Hurricane Sandy*

Park Ridge, NJ – (February 11th, 2013) –Education Aid, Inc. announced a
$5,000 Scholarship Program that will be awarded to a student who has been
impacted by Hurricane Sandy, and who has a desperate need for this type of
financial support to be able to stay in school until they can graduate.  The
funding for this Scholarship Program came from Education Aid’s 2012 50/50
Cash Raffle and Holiday Dinner Fundraiser.  Applicants must have received
some type of funding from FEMA for Hurricane Sandy to qualify for this
Program.  The Program funds will be distributed to the student during the
2013-2014 academic school year.

The devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy has caused a huge financial
burden to many families along the east coast.  Unfortunately, this burden
could have a huge impact on their ability to pay for basic living expenses
while enrolled in school.   As a result, many students will be forced to
put their education on hold or drop out completely.  The scholarship was
developed to help these economically disadvantaged students stay in school
by providing the financial support they desperately need to pay for these
expenses.

The recipient will be awarded $5,000 that will go towards non-tuition
related expenses such as:

·         Rent

·         Childcare

·         Books and School Supplies

·         Utilities – Gas and Electric

·         Utilities – Internet Connection

·         Groceries

Education Aid, Inc. is excited to announce this new scholarship program
that will able to support a student who has been affected by the
devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.  “There are many costs, other than
tuition, associated with earning your degree that typical financial aid
packages do not cover,” said Balfour, the Founder and CEO of Education Aid.
“Without any financial support to help pay for these expenses, students are
often times put in a position where they need to choose between school and
work.  Too many times the students have no choice but to drop out of school
so they can work.  Education Aid pays for expenses the students cannot
afford, thus providing the financial support necessary to keep the student
in school until graduation,” said Balfour.

The innovative approach of Education Aid’s scholarship program makes
education accessible to many students who would otherwise be unable to
afford to attend school.  For these disadvantaged students, getting the job
training they need, or earning a college degree can only be made possible
with the type of financial support Education Aid’s Scholarship Program
provides.  Education Aid’s scholarship programs start at $5,000 and can
provide support for a semester, year, or through graduation.

It is the mission of Education Aid to change the lives of students around
the country by providing them with the financial support they need to
complete their education.  This is done through the Support a Student
Scholarship Program.  Participants of this Program will have payments made
on their behalf for non-tuition related expenses that are not being covered
by their current financial aid amounts.  Many economically disadvantaged
students do not receive enough financial support to pay for such expenses
and ultimately end up dropping out of school.  This Program was created to
identify these students and provide them with the financial support
necessary to enable them to complete their degrees.  You can read more
