Scholarship Description
The George P. Boucek Scholarship Fund of Delta Dental of Pennsylvania began in 2001-2002 as a project of The
Foundation for Enhancing Communities. This scholarship program is for the children of employees of Delta Dental
to assist with college tuition expenses.
The Scholarship will be awarded as indicated: Half the funding initially and thereafter - if the funding is not being
used for a renewable scholarship - shall go to a student intending to attend college, who can demonstrate financial
need, and is a son/daughter of a Delta Dental management employee. Half of the funding initially and thereafter - if
the funding is not being used for a renewable scholarship - will be awarded to a student intending to attend college,
who can demonstrate financial need, and is a son/daughter of a Delta Dental employee who is a member of PJB
Local 170.
Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
1. Dependent children of a Delta management employee and/or member of PJB Local 170
2. Must attend a two- or four-year accredited college in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
3. Academic achievement with a minimum GPA of a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
4. Extracurricular activities, work experience, and community service
5. Financial need
