Fund Description
Minnesota Power New Generation Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to full-time college students who attend college at specific institutions in/near Minnesota Power’s service area and major in a qualifying field of study.
Application Instructions
Upperclassmen in a college or university in the Minnesota Power service area who are majoring in fields deemed ‘priority’ for the development of northern Minnesota (see list of schools and majors on application) should complete and submit the MN Power New Generation Scholarship application by the February 1st deadline day. A complete application will include the form, an official transcript and two letters of recommendation.
Selection Criteria
The Scholarship Committee of the Community Foundation will select individual scholarship recipients. Members of the committee are totally independent and separate from Minnesota Power, and no employee or former employee will select scholarship recipients. The committee will base their decision on the applicant’s academic achievements and commitment to the local area, as shown by their essay and involvement in the community.
