Arts Recognition and Talent Search (ARTS)

Scholarship Description

1. If you are enrolled in high school, you must be a senior.  2. If you are not enrolled in high school (whether you are enrolled in college, are a high school graduate not enrolled in college, or an individual not completing high school), you must be 17 or 18 years old on December 1.  3. You must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or of its official territories unless applying in Jazz.  ARTS is a national program designed to identify, recognize and encourage talented high school seniors and other young artists 17 or 18 years of age in the areas of Dance, Music/Instrumental, Music/Jazz, Music/Voice, Theater, Photography, Film and Video, Visual Arts, and Writing.  The ARTS program recognizes these young people with the following opportunities to let their talents shine:  ARTS Week - An all-expenses-paid week in Miami in January consisting of master classes, workshops, discussions, performances, exhibitions and interaction between 125 young artists and panels of distinguished artists.  An evaluation of each artist’s work by experts in the field.  Scholarships - Access to scholarships offered by NFAA’s Scholarship List Service subscribers.  Unrestricted cash grants from $100-$3,000 each.  Nominations to the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.  NFAA’s ongoing support of its alumni through various internships and career advancement programs.  The ARTS program is sanctioned by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
