Scholarship Description
The Student/Resident Experiences and Rotations in Community Health program provides opportunities for health professions students and residents to serve on interdisciplinary health care teams in underserved areas. Through SEARCH, you learn to respond to the needs of patients whose cultures may be different from yours. Through NHSC’s network of partnerships with regional/State Primary Care Associations and Primary Care Offices, you will be placed in a community where you can make a difference. To qualify for the SEARCH program, you must have started your training as a physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, nurse-midwife, dentist, dental hygienist, psychologist, social worker, psychiatric clinical nurse specialist, or marriage and family therapist. Students who have NHSC scholarships are given priority for the SEARCH program.
