Scholarship Description
Established in 1971 by the Men’s Auxiliary of the Society of Women Engineers and augmented in recent years through significant contributions from the Tremont Trust in memory of Winifred Demarest Gifford White, SWE’s first Executive Secretary. The awards are presented to engineering or computer science students entering their sophomore, junior or senior years and who demonstrate outstanding scholarship and financial need. Minimum GPA is 3.0. All SWE scholarships are open only to women majoring in engineering or computer science in a college or university with an ABET-accredited program or in a SWE-approved school, and who will be in a specified year of study during the academic year the grant payment is made. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.5/4.0 or above.
