Scholarship Description
Established in 2008, this award was created by Ouimet Director Joseph Onstott in honor of his late son. The Onstott Scholarship is in memory of Kevin Onstott, who died at the age of 27 in an accident on December 15, 2004 at Northridge Country Club in Raleigh, North Carolina where he was Assistant Superintendent. Proceeds of the 23rd Annual OnstottInvitational at Woodland Golf Club on August 11 benefited the scholarship. The Onstott Scholarship is for an Ouimet Scholar attending Methodist University, NC State or for another worthy scholar.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are “need-based” and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.
