Scholarship Description
Friends and family of Bill King, who died in 1999, established this award. It was funded through memorial donations and a Bill King Memorial Tournament held in 2000. Mr. King was a long time Ouimet Chairman at Vesper Country Club and great supporter of caddies. The William R. King Scholarship is for a Ouimet Scholar from the Lowell area.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are “need-based” and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.
