Scholarship Description
The Bush Award was funded by proceeds of the 2002 Ouimet Fund Annual Banquet honoring Former President George H.W. Bush and is named after the late father of Mr. Bush. Prescott S. Bush was a United States Senator from Connecticut andalso served as President of the United States Golf Association in 1934. Mr. Bush worked at Brown Brothers Harriman in investments, where he was a partner of and friendly with Francis Ouimet.To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The awards are “need-based” and assist with tuition at accredited undergraduate institutions.
