Scholarship Description
Who Can Apply * College students currently enrolled in the third or fourth year of a community college Bachelor of Applied Business Degree in Hospitality Management. Applicant should have finished a diploma program and proceeding to the Bachelor’s degree. * Applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants * Applicants must not have received other Canadian Hospitality Foundation scholarshipCriteriaApplications are reviewed by the scholarship sponsor and will be judged on the following criteria. Points assigned to each of the criteria from a total of 100 points are as follows: * Work experience (20): based on quality and length of work experience with extra points for foodservice, hospitality, and culinary-related experience and for increased levels of responsibility * Scholastic record (20): based on grade point average * Leadership and ability to get along with others (20): based on work experience, letters of reference and responses to application questions * Professional Promise (20): based on work experience, letters of reference and responses to application questions * Essay (10): evaluated on how well it is written, relevance to topic and knowledge of topic * Discretionary points (10): given at the discretion of the sponsor and based amongst other things on quality of application (neatness, imagination and effort put into its presentation)How to ApplySend the completed application form and the required documents directly to the Canadian Hospitality Foundation, 300 Adelaide St. East, Rm 339, Toronto ON M5A 1N1, on or before the deadline date (please note that missing or incomplete documents may be grounds for elimination): * Completed and signed application form (we discourage the use of pencil to fill in the form and would encourage typewritten submission) * OFFICIAL Transcript of Records of your complete academic history at the college you are enrolled in now (Note: web grades, academic records, photocopy, emailed nor faxed transcripts are NOT accepted) * Resumé * Signed letter/s of recommendation from your program instructor and/or Administrator and must include address, telephone and where possible, email address. The Foundation reserves the right to check all references. * Signed letter/s of recommendation from your past or current employers (reference letters for volunteer activities will also be considered) and must include address, telephone and where possible, email address. The Foundation reserves the right to check all references. * An essay on one of the topics listed on the application form (300 words)
