Scholarship Description
This scholarship was established in 2005 by the management of the Southington StepSaver. As a result of the merger between the StepSaver and the Southington Observer, subscribers of the Observer were given the option of receiving a refund or using the balance to establish this community scholarship.Eligibility requirement:? Southington students interested in pursuing their education at a 2 or 4 year college? Must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average? Volunteer/community involvement? Financial need? Two letters of recommendationEssay requirement: Write a brief essay on what you think the role a newspaper should play in their local community.
