Scholarship Description
The James Lewis Tennis Scholarship Foundation offers two levels of financial assistance to the young tennis players of Jefferson County. We provide funds for beginning through collegiate tennis players to develop talent. College scholarships are available for junior ranked players.Funding for younger players could include tennis camps, tennis equipment, tournament fees, motel/travel expenses, tennis wear and private lessons. All tennis camps must be JLTSFI Board approved. Applicants must have: * Good character and a positive attitude * A love and respect for the game of tennis * A grade point average of at least 2.8 out of 4.0 (C+)Additional requirements for college scholarship applicants include: * Three letters of recommendation sent directly to the Foundation * State ranking * Written essay by applicant * Personal interview with a member of the JLTSFI Scholarship CommitteeFinancial need as well as merit and tennis ability will be considered by JLTSFI.
