Hazel Isbell Scholarship

Scholarship Description

Established by the last will and testament of Hazel D. Isbell, these funds cannot be depleted earlier than 2007 and no later than 2016. This scholarship was to be awarded to Theta Delta chapter members at the University of Oregon. Upon the closing of the Theta Delta chapter during the 1999-2000 school year, a revised list of priority recipients is as follows: a. If the Theta Delta chapter reopens, an undergraduate or graduate student who is a Theta Delta chapter member and attending the University of Oregon; but if the Theta Delta chapter does not reopen then an undergraduate or graduate student who is a Theta Delta alumna or was alumna-eligible at the time of the closure of the Theta Delta chapter, and is attending the University of Oregon b. A Theta Delta chapter alumna or alumna-eligible at the time of closure of the Theta Delta chapter who is an undergraduate or graduate student at a university other than the University of Oregon c. A Tri Delta sorority member, other than a Theta Delta chapter alumna, who is an undergraduate or graduate student attending the University of Oregon d. A Tri Delta sorority member who was initiated at Theta Mu chapter at Oregon State University and is attending that university e. A Tri Delta sorority member who is an undergraduate or graduate student attending Oregon State University, and who was initiated at a chapter other than Theta Delta or Theta Mu f. A Tri Delta sorority member who is an undergraduate or graduate student initiated in or attending a university located in the Pacific Northwest with an active collegiate chapter g. A Tri Delta sorority member who is an undergraduate or graduate student attending any university with an active collegiate chapter First and second priority is given to a student who fits parts a. or b. respectively. If no applications are received from students described in parts a. or b., an applicant may be selected from parts c. through g. In selecting among applicants described in part c. through g., priority is given to applicants in the listed order of preference (c. being the highest, g. being the lowest), however, the selection committee may overcome the order of preference and select an applicant of lower priority in the event the selection committee finds the applicant to be significantly more worthy than those of higher priority.
