Scholarship Description
Who should apply?
Residents who plan to enroll full time in post-secondary programs and live in one of the following communities are eligible for this program:
New Hampshire: Barrington, Brentwood, Danville, Dover, Durham, East Kingston, Epping, Exeter, Farmington, Fremont, Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kensington, Kingston, Lee, Madbury, Milton, New Castle, Newfields, Newington, Newmarket, Newton, North Hampton, Northwood, Nottingham, Plaistow, Portsmouth, Rochester, Rollinsford, Rye, Sandown, Seabrook, Somersworth, South Hampton, Strafford, or Stratham
Maine: Berwick, Eliot, Kittery, North and South Berwick, or York
Selection Criteria:
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and merit. There is no specific income limitation; however, preference is generally given to applicants with the highest financial need. Students are selected to receive awards based on academic achievement, involvement in school and community activities, and work experience. An appraisal of the applicant’s abilities made by a teacher, employer or community leader is also considered.
Determining financial need
Candidates are required to submit a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) that is the result of filling out the Free Federal Form (FAFSA), which determines what a particular family can reasonably afford for education or the expected family contribution. In addition, finalists will be asked to supply a copy of the financial aid package offered by the institution to be attended.
