Scholarship Description
Battle Creek area graduating seniors or adults associated with organized labor. Strong emphasis on merit, need, above average grades, community involvement, and whose families have a modest income level. Financial need will not become a major criteria for each scholarship . Attendance (school or work) responsibility, communication skills and abilities; cooperation; service to the community; utilizing a balance of academic, community service, and extra curricular criteria. Priority will be given to candidates who have an interest or need for technical or trade related training, upgrading of skills, or re-training for individuals who are associated with organized labor and may be unemployed, under employed, and/or dislocated workers. Scholarship cold served self-interest of local employers with respect to projections of the appropriate training and education of the work force 20000 and beyond.
