Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarships

Scholarship Description

Eligibility: Women of any nationality pursuing undergraduate business degrees who demonstrate outstanding potential in the field are eligible. To apply, you must meet the following minimum requirements: Be eligible to enter the third or fourth year of an under-graduate degree program at an accredited university/ college/institute program at the time funds are received. Have achieved an outstanding academic record during the first two-three years of academic studies. Demonstrate intent to complete a program in business and show outstanding achievement in business-related subjects, as recorded on the official university/college/institute transcript. Award: The scholarship award of US$5,000 may be used for tuition, books or living expenses at any university, college or institution offering accredited business courses and degrees. Application: Applications must be completed in English. English translations must accompany all non-English documents. In addition to completing the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship application, applicants must also submit:  One confidential letter of recommendation from a faculty member in the major field of study.  One confidential letter of recommendation from an employer, volunteer supervisor, or academic advisor.  An essay in 500 words or less that clearly describes your academic and professional goals, the relevance of your program to the business field and how the Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship will assist you in reaching your goals.  Verification of enrollment from the university/college/institute registrar. Application Process: The Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Program operates at the Club, District, and International levels of Zonta International. To apply, please contact the Zonta Club nearest you or e-mail your name and contact information to Zonta International Headquarters. Applicants must be nominated by a local Zonta Club. Phase I Zonta Clubs publicize the award in their communities, and distribute, receive and evaluate applications. All application materials, recommendations, transcripts, and verification of enrollment must be received at Zonta Club(s) by April (please note that all the Zonta Clubs have different deadlines). Zonta Clubs must submit their Scholarship recipient’s application to the Zonta District Governor. Phase II The District Evaluating Committees select a District recipient (one per District) from the applications submitted by the Zonta Clubs within the District. The District Governor submits the District recipient’s information to Zonta International Headquarters. Phase III The International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Subcommittee selects six International Scholarship recipients from the District applications received. The Zonta International Foundation provides a US$5,000 Scholarship for each of the five International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship recipients.
