Scholarship Description
Description:The Ka‘iulani Home for Girls originally provided housing for young women of Hawaiian ancestry. Kamehameha Schools used the building from 1950 to 1962 to board female students attending the schools. When the home became so old it could not be repaired, it was demolished and the property sold. The Ka‘iulani Home for Girls Trust was established in 1963 and it continues the original mission of supporting Hawaiian females. Requirements: Be of Hawaiian ancestry (first time applicants must submit a copy of their birth certificates to verify ancestry). Be a female. Be a college freshman or sophomore (past recipients who will be juniors or seniors are also eligible to apply). Minimum GPA 3.0. Supplemental Materials Required:Submit a copy of your birth certificate to verify Hawaiian ancestry if you are a first time applicant.
