Scholarship Description

To be eligible for a National Minority Technical Scholarship, the student must be a member of one of the following groups underrepresented in the software industry: African American, Hispanic, or Native American.  The student must be enrolled full-time in one of the eligible undergraduate degrees and be making satisfactory progress toward a degree.  Eligible degrees include computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, such as math or physics, with a demonstrated interest in computer science.  To apply, the student must be enrolled in his or her sophomore or junior year (or his or her fourth year, if enrolled in a five-year program). Because the scholarship is merit-based, the student must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 4.0, or a 4.0 cumulative grade point average out of a possible 5.0.  Scholarship awards are made through designated schools and are not transferable to other academic institutions.  The funds are to be used for tuition only and may not be used to cover other fees on the bursar bill.
