As part of Cumberland Farms’ ongoing commitment to supporting youths and fostering their future, the Believe and Achieve program awards $1,000 scholarships to eligible graduating high school seniors across its eight-state service area. This year, 130 students from Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont will receive a total of $130,000 in scholarships.
The program is open to students entering a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school in the fall of 2015 who live within 30 miles of any Cumberland Farms location. Scholarships are awarded based on both academic performance as well as financial need, and the winners will be notified in the spring of 2015.
Previous winners have attended a wide range of institutions including Cornell, Yale, Central Maine Community College, the University of Michigan, Florida State University, the University of Pennsylvania, the College of New Jersey, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Princeton University and more.
Since Cumberland Farms started the Believe and Achieve Scholarship program in 2006, the company has awarded over $900,000 in scholarships to hundreds of college-bound young adults.
