Scholarship Description
The ET Foundation International Aluminum Extrusion Student Design Competition, sponsored by Hydro Aluminum, is open to U.S. and international high school, college, university or technical school students who have knowledge of architectural, product, structural and/or industrial design, engineering, and CAD design.To enter the contest, you must submit a design that demonstrates the manufacturing, design, and material advantages of extruded aluminum. Scholarships will be presented to the first place ($3,000), second place ($2,000) and third place ($1,000) entries. A separate scholarship for the Hydro Sustainable Design ($2,500) will be presented to the entry that also addresses environmental and/or societal concerns with their design.Student Eligibility and Requirements1. Entrants for the Student Design Competition must currently be enrolled in a 2-year, 4-year, trade, or technical school to be eligible to participate. High school students and first- and second-year college graduate students are also eligible.2. Submit an Official Entry Form for each design complete with all information requested, including the school’s name, student’s permanent address, phone, and e-mail address, and faculty advisor information.Note: Please include an appropriate, descriptive design name as it will be used to identify the entry.3. Submit student design on one or more presentation boards labeled with student name, school, and design entry name on the back of the board, or you may attach a copy of your completed entry form to the back of the board. Submissions on CD-ROM are acceptable and encouraged, however a printed copy of the entry form must accompany the submission.4. Entries must be received by the ET Foundation at the address noted on the entry form no later than February 15.
