Brown Foundation Scholarship Program for Educational Equality and Excellence

Scholarship Description

Applicants must meet the following criteria:  * Recipients must be enrolled at least half-time as defined by the higher education institution of attendance.  * Applicant must be enrolled at an institution of higher education with an accredited teacher education program.  * Applicant must have been admitted to a teacher education program.  * Applicant must have a grade point average at 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale or equivalent (i.e. 4.0 on a 5.0 scale).  * Applicant must submit two references; one from a faculty member or other college/university official and one from a person familiar with the applicant’s skills and abilities who is not a family member. Recommendations should take into account leadership, attitude, maturity, initiative, persistence, reliability, and communication skills. Indicate how many years known.
