SNM Wagner-Torizuka Fellowship

Scholarship Description

Description:  The SNM Wagner-Torizuka Fellowship, sponsored by Nihon Medi-Physics Co., LTD, is a one or two-year fellowship in the United States and Canada for Japanese physicians in the early stages of their careers. The purpose of the program is to provide experience and training in nuclear medicine/molecular imaging modalities in the areas of cardiology, neurology, and oncology. The program is expected to advance Fellows’ research and clinical expertise, as well as facilitate professional development, and to equip them to make significant contributions to the field of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging in Japan. An annual stipend of $24,000 U.S. dollars will be paid in three installments to the fellow(s). Requirements   Applicants must be permanent residents of Japan and must have received their Japanese MD license no more than fifteen (15) years from the time of application.  All applications must be completed on-line by the application deadline, 5:00pm Eastern Daylight Time on January 31, 2011. In addition, two (2) letters of support are required, one from the applicant’s supervisor or mentor in Japan, and the other from an independent, qualified source from the applicant’s institution. If the host institution in the United States or Canada has already been identified, one of the support letters should come from the host supervisor or mentor (see section III). Progress and final annual reports will be required of selected fellows before subsequent stipend payments are issued.
