Scholarship Description
* Scholarship Type: Need-based. * Eligibility Criteria: Established by Linda Pons 62 to help students from Long Island, New York who plan to become elementary school teachers. The scholarship shall be awarded to a qualified student from Long Island majoring in childhood or early childhood education who demonstrates financial need. * Award: Renewable award of $1,000. * Continuation of Funding: Based on student remaining committed to their childhood or early childhood studies and maintaining a 2.7 GPA beginning with the end of the first year and monitored annually. * Availability: Funds available each year. Number given varies. * Additional Application Material: Candidates must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.)
