Scholarship Description
Support for students pursuing music studies, with special consideration given to students with an interest in traditional American ragtime music. Applications are handled through the Eubie Blake Scholarship Fund. Preference given to students recommended by teachers known to the foundation. Application form required. Deadline(s): None Additional Information: Applicants must supply: at least 1 recommendation (and as many as 4) from teachers, preferably music teachers, proof of admission or enrollment at an educational institution, a financial need statement, and official transcripts of previous or current music studies (if applicable). Applicants may, but are not required to, send a recorded cassette tape (maximum 30 minutes) of recent musical performances and/or compositions. Limited to residents of metropolitan New York, NY, area.
