Scholarship Description

The Washington CPA Foundation of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants statewide scholarship program is now accepting applications for non-renewable tuition scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded to accounting students entering at least their junior year at any four-year accredited institution or having completed at least two terms of accounting at any two-year accredited college in Washington State, with the intent to transfer to a four-year Washington institution. Eligibility: Accounting students who will have completed their sophomore year at an accredited four-year institution in Washington State or those who have completed two terms of accounting at a two-year institution in Washington. All applicants must be U.S. citizens, or have applied for citizenship. Preference will be given to residents of Washington state. Deadline: Completed applications and other required documents should be mailed to: Scholarship Committee Washington Society of CPAs 902 140th Avenue NE Bellevue, WA 98005-3480 Unofficial college transcripts are acceptable. Scholarships may be used for tuition only. * If applying for a need-based scholarship, please submit the attached Financial Aid Worksheet to your financial aid counselor for completion and submission to the WSCPA. Selection Criteria: The Scholarship Committee will screen all applications received and select the finalists based upon criteria that includes but is not limited to: Academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA) Campus and/or community activities Work history Responses to short essay questions Two letters of recommendation Probability of success/obtaining a CPA license Financial need (considered for need-based scholarships only)
