Industrial Engineering Scholarships

Here are some of the Industrial Engineering scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

AT&T Labs Research Program

Each summer, research interns from universities all over the US come to AT&T Labs Research for 10 weeks to work with technical staff members on research projects, presenting talks of their work at the end of summer. Learn about one intern's summer experience in Inside the Labs: A Summer Intern Making A Difference. Applicants for summer internship may be members of an existing university collaboration or may apply as individuals. Candidates are typically graduate students but advanced undergraduates will also be considered in exceptional cases. All other applicants or anyone interested in learning more about other internships with AT&T, visit the AT&T corporate employment pages (www.att.jobs). Housing can be arranged for students at nearby universities according to the universities’ summer schedules (typically first week of June to mid August). Students may also arrange their own accommodations, usually by renting a room in a local home. (Opportunities for short-term apartment rentals may be limited.) Summer interns pay for their own housing; however, AT&T Labs covers the costs for travel within the United States Internship eligibility qualifications: Currently enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a graduate school program leading to a PhD. Major field must be in computer science, math, statistics, electrical engineering, operations research, systems engineering, industrial engineering, or related fields. Students must have a US social security number. US citizenship or residency is NOT a requirement.

The Heinlein Society

Three $1,250 scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students of accredited 4-year colleges and universities. The “Virginia Heinlein Memorial Scholarship” is dedicated to a female candidate majoring in engineering, math, or biological or physical sciences. The other two scholarships may be awarded to either a male or female, and add “Science Fiction as literature” as an eligible field of study.

Betty Shanahan Scholarship

The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women admitted to accredited baccalaureate or graduate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. A one-time only graduate student scholarship to recognize SWE's Executive Director & CEO Betty Shanahan's outstanding accomplishment over 10 year's of service. SWE membership required. Amount: TBD A few main eligibility points: Only women are eligible. You must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year. You must be planning to attend full time (exceptions are made for reentry and non-traditional applicants). You must not be fully funded for tuition, fees, and books and equivalent.

GE's Women's Network Scholarship

US Citizenship & SWE membership required. Leadership roles outside of academics and involvement in engineering professional organizations, discipline related internships, presentation skills. Recipients willing to intern at GE. 20 @ $5,000. Anne Maureen Whitney Barrow Memorial Scholarship

Awarded once per renewal cycle. 1 @ $7,000 Renewable 5 yr. max. Open to Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior, Senior students. All Engineering majors. A few main eligibility points: Only women are eligible. You must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year. You must be planning to attend full time (exceptions are made for reentry and non-traditional applicants). You must not be fully funded for tuition, fees, and books and equivalent.

Ada I. Pressman Memorial Scholarship

SWE Scholarships support women pursuing ABET-accredited baccalaureate or graduate programs in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science in the United States and Mexico. US citizenship required. Availability dependent upon renewals. Open to Sophomore, Junior, Senior and Graduate students. A few main eligibility points: Only women are eligible. You must be planning to study an ABET-accredited program in engineering, technology, or computing in the upcoming academic year. You must be planning to attend full time (exceptions are made for reentry and non-traditional applicants). You must not be fully funded for tuition, fees, and books and equivalent.

Wayne Kay Graduate Fellowship Award

The Wayne Kay Scholarship Fund will provide a pool of $32,000 for fellowship awards for: -students and Teacher's Assistants in a graduate program for a Master's or Doctorate dregree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering, -faculty pursuing a Doctorate degree in Manufacturing Engineering. A. Fellowship applicants must be full-time students and accepted in a graduate program for manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering. B. Fellowship awards are made only to those students who have proven scholastic ability, exemplary character and leadership capability, and who have demonstrated their potential for future leadership in the profession. C. Graduate fellowship applicants must possess an overall minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. D. Need is a consideration in awarding fellowships only when two or more applicants have equal qualifications. Additionally, the following items apply to each and every scholarship/fellowship program and are used by the review committee for evaluation: 1. Students from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology/Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (ABET/CEAB) accredited program in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or specifically stated programs are ordinarily given preference over those from 1) non-accredited programs or 2) those from other disciplines. 2. Students enrolled in industrial technology, industrial technical education, engineering management, manufacturing management, or who are in technician or machine operator programs are virtually always rejected unless stated in the individual announcement.

Calvin College/The James Bosscher/SAE Engineering Scholarship

Student Eligibility: Scholarships are awarded to incoming freshmen enrolled in the engineering program and who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and potential. Terms: One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded. This scholarship is renewable for the sophomore year contingent on continued enrollment in engineering and satisfactory performance in the first year.

University of Detroit Mercy/College of Engineering & Science/SAE Engineering Scholarship

Student Eligibility: Applicant must be an incoming freshman or transfer student admitted directly into an engineering program at UDM. Selection will be based on academic and leadership achievement. Terms: Two $500 scholarships will be awarded each year. Scholarship may be renewed for one additional year if a 3.0 GPA is maintained and student remains in the engineering program.

Richard Goolsby Scholarship

Description: Provides scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students who have shown a career interest or demonstrated practical experience in the plastics industry. Minimum Eligibility: Be a full-time student in good academic standing Be majoring in or taking courses that would be beneficial to a career in the plastics industry. This includes but is not limited to chemistry, physics, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering and business administration. Be a rising college sophomore, junior or senior at a four-year college or two-year technical school or A graduate of a four-year college seeking to obtain a post-secondary graduate degree.

HSF/General Motors Scholarship Program

Program Description: The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and General Motors (GM) have partnered to provide financial resources to assist outstanding Latinos pursuing degrees in Engineering and Business. The award amount is $2,500. Eligibility Requirements: Be of Hispanic heritage. Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired). Be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program at a four-year U.S. accredited college or university in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands for the upcoming academic year (enrollment is verified in the Fall). Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Be majoring in Engineering (electrical, industrial, manufacturing and mechanical) or Business (accounting, business administration, economics and finance). Must complete the GM Online Assessment (required of semifinalist only).

California Packaging Club Scholarship

Engineering - Industrial/Systems Engineering Must be a matriculated student who is currently an undergraduate actively involved in packaging activities and enrolled in packaging courses at SJSU.
