Hospitality Management Scholarships

David J. Hallissey Memorial Scholarship

This internship was created for the purpose of encouraging research in the field of tourism. This internship takes place in the Washington Metro area. Candidates must possess at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale and provide transcripts from the last academic term. Must be a resident, citizen or legal alien of the United States or Canada. The candidate must be either an undergraduate or graduate student of tourism in a college, university or proprietary travel school and submit proof of such.

Golden Gate Restaurant Association Scholarship

Applicant must be a California resident and meet one of the following categories: Category I: have graduated from a high school in the greater San Francisco Bay area and have been accepted as a full-time student; Category II: attend a college or university full time that operates under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) or is approved by GGRASF, have completed at least one semester and be accepted for the next semester, and have maintained a minimum 2.75 GPA; Category III: attend a college or university part time that operates under Internal Revenue Code Section 501 (c)(3) or is approved by GGRASF, work in the food service or hospitality industry at least 20 hours per week, have completed at least one semester and be accepted for the next semester, and have maintained a minimum 2.75 GPA.

WRA Education Foundation Scholarships in Foodservice

The WRA Education Foundation awards scholarships based on future plans in foodservice, academic records, essays on industry issues and professional recommendations. Over $36,000 in scholarships are awarded annually to culinary arts and hospitality management students across the state. Apply for Scholarships No hand-written applications will be accepted. Minimum qualifications for WRA EF scholarships are: Must be working in a Wisconsin foodservice operation at the time of applying Must be accepted at a nationally accredited, post-secondary school Must have a completed application that includes employer or instructor recommendations and school transcripts Please check the website for any changes in application deadline.

American Express Academic Scholarship Program

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements: be a full-time student at a four-year institution OR a part-time student at a four year institution OR be a full- or part-time student at a two-year institution, and be actively employed (at least 20 hours per week) at a hotel or motel that is a member of AH&MA at the time of application and have a minimum of 12 months' employment in a hotel OR be the dependent of an employee who meets the previous requirement and have past employment in some capacity in the hospitality industry. In addition, those applying for academic scholarships must be enrolled or be planning to enroll as an undergraduate in a hospitality management program offered by a university or college.

American Express EI Professional Development Schp

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements: intend to be enrolled in distance learning courses (correspondence courses taken on an independent study basis) or a professional certification program, offered through the Educational Institute of AH&MA and be actively employed (at least 20 hours per week) at a hotel or motel that is a member of AH&MA at the time of application and have a minimum of 12 months' employment in a hotel.

Ecolab Academic Scholarship Program

Applicants must be enrolled or intend to be enrolled full-time (at least 12 hours) in a US baccalaureate or associate hospitality degree-granting program for both the upcoming fall and spring semesters.

Ecolab Professional Certification Scholarships

Scholarships are offered for hospitality professionals seeking EI certification in the following operational areas: CHA (Certified Hotel Administrator), CLM (Certified Lodging Manager - limited service), CEOE (Certified Engineering Operations Executive), and CHHE (Certified Hospitality Housekeeping Executive). Professionals seeking certification must meet the minimum qualifications established for the certification and sit for the appropriate exam. Applicants must meet the following requirements: be actively employed full-time (at least 35 hours per week) at a hotel or motel that is a member of AH&MA at the time of application, and qualify for certification program (will vary depending on program).

Grocery Manufacturer's Food Industry Scholarship

To be eligible for consideration, each applicant must present all of the following information in resume form to the selection committee by February 20. Applicant must be able to attend Scholarship dinner and dance in New Orleans the first Saturday in April.

Dr. Tom Anderson Memorial Scholarship

The applicant must: - be a full-time student at a two or four-year college or university in North America; - be entering his/her junior or senior year of study; - be a strong academic performer and have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale; - have a degree emphasis in a travel and tourism-related field (i.e. Hotel Management, Restaurant Management, Tourism).

Louise Dessureault Memorial Scholarship

The applicant must: - be a resident of Canada; - be a full-time student at a four-year college or university in North America; - be entering his/her junior or senior year of study; - be a strong academic performer and have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale; - have a degree emphasis in a travel and tourism-telated (i.e. Hotel Management, Restaurant Management, Tourism).

Eric & Bette Friedheim Scholarship

The applicant must: - be a full-time student at a four-year college or university in North America; - be entering his/her junior or senior year of study; - be a strong academic performer and have at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale; - have a degree emphasis in a travel and tourism-related field (i.e. Hotel Management, Restaurant Management, Tourism).
