New York Scholarships

Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Rochester Institute of Technology/SAE Engineering Scholarship

Student Eligibility: Applicants must be incoming freshmen and enrolled in one of RIT's engineering or engineering technology programs. Scholarships will be granted based on academic credentials and leadership potential. A personal interview is recommended. Terms: Up to twenty-five (25) $5,000 scholarships will be awarded. Each scholarship will be renewable for three additional years of academic study contingent upon a 2.8 (B) average at RIT.

SUNY-Alfred/Vernon Gleasman/SAE Engineering Scholarship

Student Eligibility: Incoming freshmen and transfer students academically prepared to pursue an associate or baccalaureate degree in engineering technology will be eligible. Preference will be given to students enrolling in mechanical engineering technology or mechanical design engineering technology. Terms: One $500 scholarship will be offered. SUNY at Stony Brook/SAE Engineering Scholarship

Student Eligibility: Incoming freshmen admitted directly to one of the five Bachelor of Engineering degree programs are eligible. The scholarship will be based on academic achievement and demonstrated motivation for a career as a professional engineer. Terms: Four $2,000 scholarships renewable for up to 4 years if a 3.0 GPA in a Bachelor of Engineering program is maintained; $2,500 per year in years 3 and 4 for students active in the campus chapter of SAE.

Albert E. Wischmeyer Scholarship

Criteria Applicants must be graduating high school seniors or current undergraduate students enrolled in a manufacturing engineering, manufacturing engineering technology or mechanical technology accredited degree program at a college or university in New York State. Applicants must reside in Western New York State. Applicants must possess an overall minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Students may submit a scholarship application in succeeding years. Need is not a consideration in awarding scholarships except when two or more applicants have equal qualifications.

Hon. Beatrice Krupkin Scholarship

The Hon. Beatrice Krupkin Scholarship is awarded to a second or third year woman law student who best exemplifies academic success in law school combined with financial need and a keen interest in advancing the status of women in society through her eventual legal career. She must be a resident of the state of New York.

KASF Scholarship - Eastern Region

A Korean student currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program is qualified to apply. Applicants are judged on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and community service. For the Eastern Region, schools must be located in either: New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, District of Columbia, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, or Kentucky.

Dorothy M. & Earl S. Hoffman Scholarship

These scholarships, renewable for three years, were awarded for the first time in 1999 to engineering majors. Preference is given to Bucknell University and Rensselar Polytechnic Institute students. All SWE scholarships are open only to women majoring in engineering or computer science in a college or university with an ABET-accredited program or in a SWE-approved school, and who will be in a specified year of study during the academic year the grant payment is made. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or above.

3 Point Scholarship Program

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The “3 Point Scholarship Program” has been designed to assist New York/Tri-State & Tulsa area high school students in their pursuit of a college degree. $2,000 grants will be available to graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time at a two-year or four-year accredited institution during the upcoming academic year. Students who remain in good standing academically during their freshman year will be given consideration to reapply for additional financial assistance through the program. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS 1). Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent). 2). Financial Need – attach copies of head of household’s most recent tax returns. 3). Commitment to community service – attach a detailed list your activities. Please submit the following with your completed application: A). An official high school transcript (originals only) – in a sealed envelope. B). Two (2) letters of recommendation – school official, current or former employer, and community leader will be accepted.

MusicAuthority’s Annual Music Lovers Scholarship

MusicAuthority recognizes the positive impact that music can have on a student’s learning experience. Studies have shown how music can enhance learning- from improving memory performance to relieving anxiety, music can be a great component to aid a student’s college experience. We are proud to offer our $1,000 scholarship to one current or prospective student. We will be offering this scholarship on a continual basis and we are excited to promote a passion for music and higher education.

Tractor Supply Company Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Pursing a four-year degree in any area of agriculture. Applicant must complete financial analysis section of application and exhibit financial need. Resident of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or Wisconsin required. Recipients shall allow Tractor Supply Company to use photographs of themselves and their families in company advertising.AWARD: Approximately one scholarship at $3,000. Not guaranteed.

Blue Seal Feeds Inc. Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a four-year degree in animal science or marketing at Cornell University, Penn State University or Virginia Tech. Resident of Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont or Virginia required.AWARD: Two scholarships at $1,000 each, non-renewable.
