Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Ruth Rabbe Hager Scholarship

Undergraduate members of chapters in Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia.  Initiated collegian or alumnae members of Kappa Alpha Theta in good standing with the Fraternity who will pursue an undergraduate degree during the next Academic Year. (New Members may apply, but should have signed Loyalty Pledge cards submitted to the Fraternity by the application deadline.)  Students who expect to have eligible academic expenses not funded by other scholarships or grants. Theta membership dues are not an eligible academic expense.  Applicants with applications and References’ recommendation forms submitted by the application deadline.

Kids’ Chance of Maryland, Inc. Scholarship

Children who have had a parent catastrophically injured or killed in an employment-related accident in Maryland. Students must be between the ages of 16 and 25. The parent’s death or injury must have resulted in a substantial decline in the family income.Generally, the scholarship is good for one semester, and the applicant must maintain acceptable grades. The applicant must reapply at the end of each semester for the scholarship to continue.Scholarship awards vary and depend largely on the needs and educational expenses of the student. Scholarships cover tuition and books, but may also include housing and meals.

MACPA Educational Foundation, Inc. Scholarships

For college accounting majors (merit and financial need) Amount: $1,000/year and up Requirements: Maryland residents attending state college/university; complete at least 60 total credit hours by time of award of which at least 6 hours are accounting courses at time of award AND enroll in or successfully complete Intermediate Accounting; have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better; demonstrate financial need.

Activia Training Annual Scholarship Award

Activia Training are pleased to offer a $1,500 annual scholarship for college, university, high school or trade school students in the US. There is no specific course of study required, and you can use the money in whatever way that you feel benefits your studies the most. There will be two scholarship awards of $750 each year, awarded in November and May as follows: - The video winner will receive $500 - The essay format winner will receive $250 Furthermore, all entries adjudged to be of a suitable standard will be eligible for an “expenses award” as follows: - YouTube videos: $20 - Blog articles: $15 To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be at least 16 years of age and attending, or have secured a place, at a college, university, high school or trade school in the US. Ornithology Scholarships

The Society also awards Ornithology Scholarships for a week of study in ornithology at the Audubon summer workshop in Maine. All together, about ten scholarships are awarded, although choice of camps varies year by year.Scholarship recipients must work with young people. Teachers, camp counselors, park rangers, students, and others who intend to make nature education a part of their careers are eligible. Applicants need not be members of MOS, but must be endorsed by a chapter or a member of MOS.Each candidate must be 18 years of age or older and must provide a written statement showing how the Audubon experience will be used to develop in young people an appreciation of our wild heritage and a sense of responsibility for the care and quality of our natural resources and environment. Additionally, two letters of recommendation from individuals who know of the candidate's interests, activities, abilities, and potential are requested. One of these letters should be from either a member of MOS or a chapter of MOS. It is helpful if letters cite specific programs or accomplishments of the candidate, in addition to personal qualities. Applicants should also submit a current resume. Applications which pair a student and adult from the same school or county are especially encouraged. Associated Utility Contractors of Maryland

Who may apply? Any high school senior who is the daughter, son or grandchild of an AUC member company employee, and will be enrolling full or part time in an academic institution of higher education, beginning in September. The enrollment may be in any curriculum for any number of years. This may be a four-year college, a community college or a trade school anywhere in the United States. The amount of the scholarship is $1,000.00. How will the application be judged? Selections will be based on the general worthiness of the application. The AUC Educational Trust Scholarship Committee will consider (1) scholastic standing, (2) ACT and/or SAT scores, (3) extra curricular activities, (4) career goals, (5) past employment, (6) essay and (7) thoroughness of the completed application.

SelectSpace Scholarship

Selectspace scholarship At SelectSpace Partitions, we are proud to offer a scholarship program for students in the process of pursuing a college degree. The awarded student will receive $500 to be used towards expenses for his or her degree. Who may apply? U.S. citizens accepted to or currently attending a college or university within the United States. The winner will be required to provide proof of acceptance to your college or university, or a college transcript. Deadline: Applications must be submitted via the web form by November 30. Next Steps: The award recipient will be notified of the selection on or around December 31. The scholarship award is to be used exclusively for school tuition or related expenses. A check for $500 will be made payable to the award recipient’s college or university. The recipient is expected to submit receipts in accordance with IRS regulations.

MD Congress of Parents & Teachers Scholarship

*The Marlyand PTA maintains a scholarship fund to assist individuals in preparing for a career in education. *A recipient of a scholarship is free to choose the accredited college or university that he or she desires to attend. The recipient is also free to choose the area in which he or she decides to specialize while working in education within the State of Maryland. *Selection of scholarship recipients is based upon interest in and potential for a career in education, academic record, financial need, community involvement and character. Applicants are eligible if the following criteria are met: * Applicants must be a high school senior, a high school graduate, or currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. * An applicant agrees to prepare for a career in public education in the State of Maryland. * An applicant must obtain sponsorship of a Maryland PTA local unit in good standing.

North Charles/Wyman Park Medical Staff Scholarship

The North Charles/Wyman Park Medical Staff Scholarship is available to a medical student with a home/permanent Maryland address who is enrolled in either The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine or the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Persons qualifying for this scholarship must have attended public or private high school in the State of Maryland for a minimum of three years. Must show academic excellence in the field of medicine and possess the personal qualities which, according to the Foundation Board of Directors, demonstrate promise of success in the pursuit of a medical degree. Financial need is also considered in the selection process.

Ernestine Matthews Trust Scholarship Award

Scholarship awards will be granted only to applicants from the District of Columbia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia who are entering college as freshmen and will be continued for undergraduate study only. The applicant must rank in the upper 1/3 of the high school class and be in proven need of financial aid in order to attend college. The applicant must be of high moral character and sign a statement that he/she will neither smoke nor use alcoholic beverages while receiving money from the Trust. The scholarship tuition must be used only to defray the cost of tuition and/or room and board of the awardee.
