ABC Stores Jumpstart Scholarship

Created by ABC Stores, Inc. to support the employees and their dependents in the support of post high education pursuits. Requirements: Be an employee or dependent of an employee of ABC Stores or Company Island Gourmet Markets. Applicants must be residents of Hawai'i, Nevada, Guam or Saipan. Be enrolled as a full-time or part-time student. Demonstrate financial need. Attend an accredited two year or four year college or university as an undergraduate student. Maintain a minimum of 2.7 GPA

Alma White - Delta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship

Alma White was a long-time teacher and principal in Hawai'i. When she died, she left a great part of her assets to the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, Delta Chapter, of which she was a member. The Society is an educational society dedicated to the advancement of women educators. The Chapter members established this scholarship which will enable future generations of Hawai'i students to pursue teaching as their life's calling. Requirements: Major in Education. Be a college junior, senior or graduate student. Applicants must submit a letter from their school confirming enrollment in the Education program. Two letters of recommendation required. Be a resident of the State of Hawaii Be a full-time student Maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA

American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) Honolulu Chapter Scholarship Fund

The Jane Suganuma Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 1987 by her friends and colleagues to honor Jane, an outstanding print production person in Honolulu. With additional assistance from the American Institute of Graphic Arts Honolulu Chapter this scholarship supports students who demonstrate a commitment to print production, especially those who will stay in Hawaii and share what they have learned. Requirements: Major in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or Commercial Arts. Be a Hawaii resident. Minimum 2.7 GPA. Demonstrate financial need Attend an accredited two or four year college or university as either an undergraduate or graduate student Be a full-time student

Arthur Jackman Scholarship

This fund was set up by the granddaughter of Arthur Jackman, a man who came to this country in the early 1900s and built his business working from the bottom up in the steel industry. The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to students seeking training specifically to gain employment. Career & Technical programs include (but are not limited to) culinary arts, auto repair, diesel mechanics, business technology, carpentry, and a certificate or associates in nursing. Requirements: Residents of the island of Hawaii. Enrolled in an AS or AAS career and technical degree program at Hawaii Community College. Demonstrate financial need Be a full time student Maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA Preference for renewals

Blossom Kalama Evans Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was created by the family of Blossom Kalama Evans with donations from the Big Island Girls Golf Club. Blossom Kalama Evans was a long-time resident of Hilo and a leading woman golfer on the Big Island where she formed the Big Island Hawaiian Girls Golf Club. She was devoted to assisting the people of Hawai'i. Requirements Supports students of Hawaiian ancestry. Be a college junior, senior or graduate student attending a college or university in Hawaii. Applicant must include a statement on how their knowledge will be used to serve the needs of the Native Hawaiian community. Be a resident of the State of Hawaii . Demonstrate financial need. Attend an accredited four year college or university as either an undergraduate or graduate student. Be a full-time student. Maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA. Preference given to students studying Hawaiian language or Hawaiian Studies.

Candon, Todd, & Seabolt Scholarship Fund

The Candon, Todd, & Seabolt Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 to benefit applicants studying Accounting or Finance. Requirements: Major in accounting and/or finance. Be a college Junior or Senior. Minimum GPA 3.2.

Castle & Cooke George W.Y. Yim Scholarship Fund

Castle & Cooke Properties created this fund when they built the Mililani Technology Park as a way of recognizing outstanding students from Central O'ahu and to encourage studies in high technology fields. Requirements: Be a dependent of a current employee with at least one year of service with a Castle and Cooke Hawaii affiliated company. Minimum GPA 3.0. Be a resident of the State of Hawaii Demonstrate financial need Attend an accredited two or four year college or university as either an undergraduate or graduate student Be a full-time student

Community Scholarship Fund

This is a pooled fund supported by many donors. It awards scholarships to students who are the first in their families to attend college or have other unique circumstances. Requirements: Be a first-generation college student (meaning that no parent has a college degree) Preference for college sophomores Maintain a GPA between 3.3 - 3.8 Demonstrate a commitment to our community in Hawaii Demonstrate financial need Be a resident of the State of Hawaii Attend an accredited four year college or university as an undergraduate student Be a full-time student

Doris and Clarence Glick Classical Music Scholarship Fund

Established in 1996 through the will of Clarence Glick, a long time teacher at the University of Hawai'i, this scholarship perpetuates the Glicks' love for classical music. Requirements: Major in Music with emphasis on classical music. Be a resident of the State of Hawaii Demonstrate financial need Attend an accredited two or four year college or university as either an undergraduate or graduate student Be a full-time student Maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA

Dr. Alvin & Monica Saake Foundation Fund

This scholarship is named for Dr. Alvin Saake, a former coach of the University of Hawai'i basketball team in the 1950's and 60's who passed away in 2003. His commitment to higher education lives on in this scholarship. You were chosen for your interest in the fields of Kinesiology, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Leisure Science or other related fields. Requirements: Be a college junior, senior or graduate student. Major in Kinesiology, Leisure Science, Physical Education, Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy. Be a resident of the State of Hawaii. Demonstrate financial need. Attend an accredited two or four year college or university. Be a full-time student. Maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA.

Dr. and Mrs. Moon Park Scholarship

Requirements: Be an employee or child dependent with a minimum of at least one year of service of Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP and/or Pan Pacific Pathologies, LLC at the time of application and awarding. Minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) of at least 3.0. May attend a college or university in Hawaii or the Continental United States. Extra Data Required:Please provide Name and Relationship to you of eligible employee of Clinical Laboratories of Hawaii, LLP and/or Pan Pacific Pathologies, LLC

Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Education Scholarship

Requirements: Major in Education with emphasis on teaching. Preference given to non-traditional students with at least two years of teaching experience. Preference given to students of Hawaiian ethnicity. Minimum GPA 2.8. Two letters of recommendation required. Include in your Personal Statement any community service you have been involved in, and explain why you are involved in these activities. Include in your Personal Statement the answer to the question -- What is your teaching philosophy? And how is your philosophy being applied in the classroom today (provide an example)? IMPORTANT: Applicants are automatically disqualified if they do not address their teaching philosophy in the Personal Statement.
