Christian Scholarships

Here are some of the Christian scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Associated Women for Pepperdine (AWP) Scholarship

To assist deserving members of the Church of Christ attend Pepperdine University's Seaver College, Graduate School of Education and Psychology, and School of Law. Recipients are selected on the basis of financial need, merit, character, and church membership.

Ann Marie Bredefeld Scholarship

This scholarship is for students who share the Christian values of Pepperdine.

Thomas and Glenna Trimble Endowed Scholarship

To assist deserving Church of Christ students.

The Brian J. White Endowed Law Scholarship

To assist practicing Christians who are committed to pursuing a career in criminal defense. The student must actively worship with a congregation. A letter from his/her minister or priest should confirm such affiliation with a congregation. The student must demonstrate commitment to pursuing a career in criminal defense in the form of having a job; a job offer; or internship with a public or federal defender's office or with a private criminal defense practitioner. A letter of intent from an employer must verify the commitment.

J. McDonald and Judy Williams GSEP Scholarship

To support Church of Christ students in Graduate School of Education and Psychology.

Katherine J. Schutze Memorial Scholarship

(For women seminary students) Eligibility: -be a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); -plan to prepare for the ordained ministry Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); -be a better than average student (at least a C+ average); -provide evidence of financial need; -be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited school or seminary; -provide a transcript of academic work; -make a renewal application each year if eligible; -provide references from a regional minister, pastor, lay leaders and/or professors; -be under care of a regional Commission on the Ministry or in the process of coming under care; For your information: Applicants must apply or reapply each year to receive scholarships. There are no automatic renewals.

Athletic Scholarship

Athletic scholarships are awarded by the Athletic Department to students who demonstrate athletic ability and Christian character which will contribute to The Masters College and its athletic programs. The amount of the award varies and an annual application is required. Please contact the Athletic department for more information.

Christian Ministry Dependent Grant

The Christian Ministry Dependent Grant is awarded to full-time students demonstrating need, who are dependents of full-time Christian ministry personnel who provide the familys primary support and whose ministries are consistent with the mission of TMC. The award is $2,000 per years is and renewable with an annual application. Additional documentation is required. Please complete the Christian Ministry Dependant Application and provide the doctrinal statement of the organization that the familys primary support is received from.

Ministry Matching Grant

o The Ministry matching grant is awarded to students who receive sponsorship from a Christian ministry. The Masters College will match, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to a total of $2,500 per student, as long as funds remain available. The award is up to $2,500 per year and is renewable with an annual application. Additional documentation is required. Please submit the Ministry Matching Grant Application.

T. James Fernley III Memorial Fund

Grant Description: Applications for financial assistance will be considered for those preparing for a Christian ministry as full-time students at an accredited Episcopal seminary. Applicants must be entering their senior year of graduate studies and must intend to be ordained. The Sylvia Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund

Amount: $500 Description: Provides an annual scholarship to be awarded to a student who is in his/her junior or senior year of undergraduate studies or is in his/her first year of seminary studies for the ordained ministry of any Christian denomination. Primary consideration will be given to applicants intending to become pastors in the Nebraska Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Candidates of other Christian denominations must plan to minister within the state of Nebraska.

Ministry Scholarship Program

Scholarship Purpose: The purpose of the Mary E. Bivins Foundation Religious Scholarship Program is to educate ministers to preach the Christian religion. Scholarships are provided for an undergraduate or graduate education leading to a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a field that prepares the student to preach the Christian religion. Priority will be given to students intending to serve as pulpit pastors upon graduation. Scholarship Criteria and Award: * The student must be dedicated to seeking an undergraduate or graduate education leading to a Bachelors or Masters Degree in a field that prepares the student to preach the Christian religion and with the intent to serve as a pulpit pastor. * The student must be committed to studies and maintain a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or above or a cumulative graduate GPA of 3.0 or above. * The student must be a permanent resident of one of the 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. * The student must enroll and pass a minimum of 12 hours each semester at the undergraduate level or 9 hours each semester at the graduate level. * The student must enroll in a college or university that is an accredited institution. Scholarship awards are based upon $1,000 per semester for those students classified as a freshman or sophomore, $2,000 per semester for those students classified as a junior or senior and $3,000 per semester for graduate students to be used for tuition, books, fees, and other expenses as necessary for college/university attendance. Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis, and the student is required to continue to meet all award criteria each semester and to complete an application annually.
