The student must be planning to attend an accredited college (2 year or 4 year), university, or trade/technical school. Applicants must have a grade point average not lower than 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and have engaged in extracurricular activities in their school or community. This scholarship is available to any applicant regardless of age, race, creed, color, ethnic origin or personal belief. Preference will be given to students planning to enter a career in marketing or automotive technological fields. The purpose of the Sears Craftsman Scholarship is to acknowledge the academic achievement, citizenship, extracurricular activities, job experience of graduating high school seniors and to provide an incentive for students to continue their education.
