Sponsors: Patient Advocate Foundation, Novartis Oncology Survivorship Fund, Alza Corporation Scholarship, Nexell's Chance for Sucess Award, Amgen Scholarship, US Oncology Scholarship, Bristol-Myers Squibb Oncology/Immunology Scholarship, Genetech BioOncology Scholarship Type of Award: Scholarships Amount of Award: $5000.00 (8) Application Requirements/Description: The purpose of these scholarships is to provide support to a person seeking to initiate or complete a course of study that has been interrupted or delayed by a diagnosis of cancer or other critical or life threatening disease. Scholarship Criteria A primary criterion for eligibility is that the recipients pursue a course of study that renders them immediately employable after graduation. Additional Criteria Medical Criteria: must be a survivor of a life threatening, chronic or debilitating disease. must maintain an overall 3.0 G.P.A. must be a full time student. must complete 20 hours of community service for the year the scholarship will be dispensed. must write an essay on why they have chosen that particular field, how some illness in their family may have affected their decision and how they feel they can help others by earning this degree.
