Scholarship Description
The Gordon B. and Josephine Hewlett Memorial Scholarship assists Franklin County students who wish to pursue college degrees in nursing. The primary purpose of this scholarship is toassist undergraduate students, but in the absence of qualified applicants, the scholarship may go to graduate students. The scholarship was established in 1999 by the children of Gordon B. andJosephine Hewlett as a memorial to their parents.SELECTION CRITERIA:Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:1. Desire to pursue a degree in nursing2. Academic achievement of a 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale3. Extra-curricular activities (sports, organizations, clubs, etc.)4. Service to the community (volunteering)5. Essay 300 words maximum, typewritten, 12 pt. font, double spaced6. Financial need7. Resident of Franklin County
