Scholarship Description
This program is open to master’s and doctoral degree candidates enrolled in an accredited graduate program. Institutional affiliation and citizenship restrictions may apply for some awards or facilities. Applicants will be reviewed on the basis of academic performance, research potential, career goals, recommendations, and compatibility of scientific interests and proposed research with the resources of the host facility. The fellowship ranges from one to twelve months; non-thesis research applicants are generally placed for eight to sixteen weeks in the summer or for a semester. Renewals are competitive and require an updated application. Renewals beyond two years for master’s candidates and three years for doctoral degree candidates will receive special review. A fellowship award may include a stipend of at least $1300 per month, tuition assistance, and an allowance for travel. Sponsors may augment the award and provide additional allowances for fellowships at the facility or on campus.
