Wayne Kay Graduate Fellowship Award

Scholarship Description

The Wayne Kay Scholarship Fund will provide a pool of $32,000 for fellowship awards for:  -students and Teacher’s Assistants in a graduate program for a Master’s or Doctorate dregree in Manufacturing Engineering or Industrial Engineering,  -faculty pursuing a Doctorate degree in Manufacturing Engineering.  A. Fellowship applicants must be full-time students and accepted in a graduate program for manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering.  B. Fellowship awards are made only to those students who have proven scholastic ability, exemplary character and leadership capability, and who have demonstrated their potential for future leadership in the profession.  C. Graduate fellowship applicants must possess an overall minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.  D. Need is a consideration in awarding fellowships only when two or more applicants have equal qualifications.  Additionally, the following items apply to each and every scholarship/fellowship program and are used by the review committee for evaluation:  1. Students from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology/Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (ABET/CEAB) accredited program in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or specifically stated programs are ordinarily given preference over those from 1) non-accredited programs or 2) those from other disciplines.  2. Students enrolled in industrial technology, industrial technical education, engineering management, manufacturing management, or who are in technician or machine operator programs are virtually always rejected unless stated in the individual announcement.
