Scholarship Description
Those individuals committed to a medical assisting career, holding a high school diploma or the equivalent, and enrolled or soon to be enrolled in a postsecondary medical assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Scholarships are awarded on the basis of interest, need and aptitude. The recipients are selected by the directors of The AAMA Endowment. One can take medical assistant training courses at community or junior colleges, proprietary schools and vocational-technical institutes accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). On request, the American Association of Medical Assistants will supply a list of schools offering programs accredited by CAAHEP.
