Scholarship Description
By the bequest of William H, Higgins, full-time seminary or Ph.D. students preparing for professional leadership in the church are eligible to receive grants of up to $10,000. Special attention is given to M.Div students preparing for the parish ministry. A committee accountable to the Presbytery of Chicago has administered this fund since 1960. Awards are based on financial need, vocational fitness, plan of study and ecclesiastical connection. Please note: Preference is given to students of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) and students under the care of the Presbytery of Chicago. If funds are available after that, others will be considered.
