Program Description:Air Products is a leading worldwide company, serving customers in industrial, energy, technology and healthcare markets with a unique portfolio of atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, and equipment and services.The HSF/Air Products Excellence in Engineering program will award two outstanding engineering majors with a $15,000 scholarship each. Eligible candidates should be majoring in mechanical or chemical engineering.Applicants may also be offered the opportunity to participate in a summer internship at various Air Products locations.Eligibility Requirements: * Be of Hispanic American heritage. * Be a current first year with plans to enroll as a FULL-TIME sophomore OR be a current sophomore with plans to enroll as a FULL-TIME junior. * Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanent residents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551. * Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale. * Submit a current resume. * Must be majoring in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. * Must be planning to attend selected universities (see website) * Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) * Submit an essay describing their interests in engineering, accomplishments, plans, goals, and what distinguishes them from other engineering students. * Be willing to be interviewed for a possible summer internship opportunity with Air Products.
