Masters and doctoral students in communication sciences and disorders desiring to conduct research in audiology are eligible to compete for a $2,000 grant for a proposed 1-year study. Supported by the Ira M. Ventry and Brad W. Friedrich Memorial Funds.

Masters and doctoral students in communication sciences and disorders desiring to conduct research in early childhood language development are eligible to compete for a $2,000 grant for a proposed 1-year study. Supported by the Arlene M. Matkin Memorial Fund and ASHA Special Interest Division 1.

These doctoral scholarships support strong doctoral candidates who will commit to attaining the research doctoral degree and to working in a higher education academic community in the field of communication sciences and disorders in the United States.

Full-time masters or doctoral students in communication sciences and disorders programs demonstrating outstanding academic achievement are eligible to compete for $5,000 scholarships. Supported in part by Psi Iota Xi National Philanthropic Organization and the Marni Reisberg Memorial Fund. Up to seven scholarships are offered annually.

Full-time graduate students with a disability who are enrolled in a communication sciences and disorders program and demonstrate outstanding academic achievement are eligible to compete for a $5,000 scholarship. Supported by the American Business Clubs and the Leslie Londer Fund.

Racial/ethnic minority students who are U.S. citizens and who are accepted for graduate study in audiology or speech-language pathology are eligible to compete for $5,000 scholarships. Supported by the Foundations Minority Scholarship Fund.

Full-time international/minority graduate students studying communication sciences and disorders in the United States and demonstrating outstanding academic achievement are eligible to compete for $5,000 scholarships. Supported by the Kala Singh Memorial Fund.

Eligibility -- Any graduate student from California enrolled for: Foreign Service Career Students seeking a career in Foreign Service with the US State Departments diplomatic corps must provide acceptance by the School that will prepare you for a Foreign Service Career. Stanford, USC, and University of California offer such courses. Public School Administration Career A career educator with experience in the classroom and public school administration must satisfy the semester hours required for the doctorate. These educators seek advancement in the Elementary or Secondary levels of our public education system as Administrators or Superintendents. Speech Language Pathology Careers Students seeking a career in Speech Language Pathology at a school providing such graduate programs in California. Award -- The Grant is $6,000.00. $3,000.00 is paid in August and the second $3,000.00 is paid in February. The second payment is dependent upon proof of satisfactory progress by a letter from your Dean or Department Head. This letter is due in our office by the end of February. Campus--Any California campus offering the required course of study. Deadline Date-- please check the website. Limited to residents of California.

Who may apply: Maryland residents who provide public service in Maryland State or local government or nonprofit agencies in Maryland to low income or underserved residents.How to apply: Complete and file a LARP General application. Third-year law students must file a Pre-Graduation Law Application and LARP General application.When to apply: LARP General applications become available in June. The application deadline is September 30. Pre-Graduation Law Applications become available in September of your third year of law school. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSYou must have earned a degree from a college in Maryland, or from any law school, or a resident teacher certificate from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE). You must be employed full-time (35+ hours per week) in state or local government or in a nonprofit organization in Maryland. Your employer must help low income, underserved residents or underserved areas in the state. You must have educational loans from a university, government, or commercial source that you used to pay college expenses. You may not be in default on a loan. Your annual gross salary cannot exceed $60,000. If married, your annual gross salary cannot exceed $60,000, and your combined salaries cannot exceed $130,000. If employed as a nurse faculty member, your annual gross salary cannot exceed $75,000. If married, your annual gross salary cannot exceed $75,000, and your combined salaries cannot exceed $160,000. This is a service-based program. Prior service obligations from other State of Maryland scholarships must be completed by July 1. One position cannot fulfill two service obligations simultaneously.PRE-GRADUATION LAW STUDENT REQUIREMENTSYou must be a law student attending University of Maryland, Baltimore or University of Baltimore and in your third and final year of school. You must submit a Pre-Graduation Law Application before graduation in May, together with verification of an employment offer. You must submit a LARP General application by September 30 and meet all eligibility requirements listed above.

IMPORTANT DATES Applications Accepted: February 10, 2017 - January 29, 2018 Final Award Selection: March 15, 2018 Scholarship Awarded: Spring Quarter 2018 REQUIREMENTS The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is offered to students entering or currently pursuing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Applicant must be a US citizen, at least 17 years of age, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. All applicants must submit a 600 to 1,000-word essay explaining what they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field and how the scholarship would fulfill those goals. Recommended topics are included in the Personal Essay section. All applications must be received by January 29th, 2018. Finalists will be notified in February and must provide proof of enrollment and GPA (letters of acceptance, transcripts, etc.) before the scholarship recipient is selected. SELECTION Applications will be reviewed by a panel. The winner will be selected based on the criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document. Once the winner is decided and notified of the award, he/she will receive a mailed 1099-MISC tax form and the check will be delivered to their address. The winner of the scholarship award will be fully responsible for the taxes incurred from receiving the award.

$10,000 two-year scholarship Ideal candidates are a current member of AQHA pursuing a career in the field of hippotherapy through physical therapy, occupational therapy and or speech language pathology. Related college majors may include, but are not limited to, communication disorders, sports and exercise science or kinesiology. Members should apply while enrolled as a sophomore at an accredited university or has been accepted to a related graduate school program. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.5 grade point average. Funding for this scholarship will be applied to the junior and senior year of a four-year undergraduate degree program or a two-year graduate degree program as specified above.
