Law Scholarships

Here are some of the Law scholarships on our site for which you may qualify.

Library Degree for Law School Graduates

Awarded to a law school graduate working towards a degree in an accredited library school. Preference is given to AALL members, but scholarships are not restricted to members. Preference in selection is given to persons with meaningful law library experience. Evidence of financial need must be submitted.

Library School Graduates Attending Law School

Awarded to a library school graduate working toward a degree in an accredited law school, who has meaningful law library experience and has no more than 36 semester (54 quarter) credit hours remaining before qualifying for the law degree. Preference given to members of AALL, but scholarships are not restricted to members. Evidence of financial need must be submitted.

Library Degree for Non-Law School Graduates

Awarded to a college graduate with meaningful law library experience who is a degree candidate in an accredited library school. Preference is given to members of AALL, but scholarships are not restricted to members. Preference is given to applicants working for degrees with emphasis on courses in law librarianship. Evidence of financial need must be submitted.

Library School Graduates Seeking a Non-Law Degree

Awarded to library school graduates who are degree candidates in an area, other than law, which will be beneficial to the development of a professional career in law librarianship. Scholarship restricted to members of AALL. Evidence of financial need must be submitted.

Law Librarians in Continuing Education Courses

Awarded to law librarians with a degree from an accredited library or law school who are registrants in continuing education courses related to law librarianship.

George A. Strait Minority Stipend

$1,500 to $3,500 awarded to college graduates with law library experience who are members of a minority group as defined by current U.S. government guidelines and are degree candidates in accredited library or law schools. Preference will be given to individuals with previous service to, or interest in, law libarianship. Applicants must show evidence of financial need.

Schwartz Award

The American College of Legal Medicine has an annual Student Writing Competition in which $1,000 cash awards are made for the outstanding original paper on Legal Medicine. All papers submitted will receive consideration for publication in the Journal of Legal Medicine or other medical legal publications. Applicant Criteria 1. Authors must be currently enrolled in an accredited law, medical, podiatry, nursing, dental school, or program of health science or health care administration school in the United States or Canada. 2. No paper which has been previously published in any form will be considered. What is Legal Medicine Legal medicine is the professional and academic discipline which concerns itself with legal aspects of medical science, medical practice and other health care delivery problems. Practitioners of the specialty have training, knowledge and expertise sufficient to address the scope of the specialty from a scholarly, scientific (research) and practical perspective.

Letourneau Award

Tribal Priority Scholarship

This highly competitive scholarship is awarded to encourage Hopi college students to obtain baccalaureate and graduate degrees in subject areas of priority interest to the Hopi Tribe, and to encourage these graduates to apply their degrees to Hopi Tribal Goals and Objectives. This scholarship is only available to college juniors, seniors and graduate students pursuing a baccalaureate or graduate degree in one of the following areas: law, natural resources, education, medicine/health, engineering or business.

Richard W. & Florence B. Irwin Law Schp

For Northampton residents of at least five years who attend or have been accepted to law school. Established in 1971 under the will of Leigh Sanford to assist Northampton residents to acquire a legal education, become better citizens, community leaders, and able members of the legal profession.

NIABA Scholarship Program

The National Italian American Bar Association will provide up to three $1,000 scholarship awards to student members of the NIABA to assist deserving and qualified students to further their legal education in law school during the upcoming academic year.
