R&D Systems Scholarship Application Fall 2018

R&D Systems is proud to support education in science with a scholarship program established to students who are pursuing a degree in a science related field. The R&D Systems Scholarship Program will be awarded to students pursuing a degree in a science related field. A $1500 (or international currency equivalent) scholarship will be awarded twice a year for one student in the fall semester and one student in the spring semester.

Healthcare Leaders Scholarship

IMPORTANT DATES Applications Accepted: February 10, 2017 - January 29, 2018 Final Award Selection: March 15, 2018 Scholarship Awarded: Spring Quarter 2018 REQUIREMENTS The Healthcare Leaders Scholarship is offered to students entering or currently pursuing an educational program related to nursing or medicine. Applicant must be a US citizen, at least 17 years of age, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. All applicants must submit a 600 to 1,000-word essay explaining what they hope to accomplish during their career in the medical field and how the scholarship would fulfill those goals. Recommended topics are included in the Personal Essay section. All applications must be received by January 29th, 2018. Finalists will be notified in February and must provide proof of enrollment and GPA (letters of acceptance, transcripts, etc.) before the scholarship recipient is selected. SELECTION Applications will be reviewed by a panel. The winner will be selected based on the criteria set forth in the requirements section of this document. Once the winner is decided and notified of the award, he/she will receive a mailed 1099-MISC tax form and the check will be delivered to their address. The winner of the scholarship award will be fully responsible for the taxes incurred from receiving the award.

Eligibility Criteria:•Must be of Hispanic background•Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States or Puerto Rico•Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year•Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate student for the upcoming academic year•Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale•Must demonstrate financial need•Must be studying a major that falls under the STEM Majors Application

As part of our ongoing commitment to helping families maintain healthy lifestyles, we will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to one health care student. Best of all, we don’t require any boring essays or long application forms. Michael Moody Fitness

The Michael Moody Fitness Scholarship offers $1,500 to a high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, participation and leadership in school activities and work experience, and interest in pursuing a career in the health and fitness related fields. The student may apply and use the money for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. The scholarship is sponsored by Michael Moody Fitness. The 2017 program will be accepting scholarship applications from August 2nd, 2017 until 1,000 scholarship applications are submitted or July 15th, 2018, whichever comes first. Your scholarship application MUST be one of the first 1,000 submitted by the deadline date.

Dairy Farmers of America Scholarships

At Dairy Farmers of America, we believe it is important to invest in the next generation of leaders to ensure a bright future for the dairy industry. That is why we established the DFA Cares Foundation Scholarship Program. Square Cow Movers Scholarship for Community Impact

Any eligible student is welcome to apply, whether you have extensive experience giving back to your community, or just a little. In addition to the general application (which can be found here), each candidate must submit an essay that details their views on various businesses’ impact on local communities, as well as illuminates your ideas and/or beliefs on how organizations can properly impact their own communities. Length: 1,800 words minimum 2,500 words maximum Topic: In your own words, how do you think a business can help out the community in an ethical way? If you owned a business right now- what would it be? And how would you use that company to positively impact your community? References: Please use examples and insights from your own experiences, as well as cite any resources you use for data or statistics.

Howard Hughes Medical Inst. Predoctoral Fellowship

Open to citizens or nationals of the United States or foreign nationals. Awards will be made for study toward a PhD or ScD degree in the following biological sciences: biochemistry, bioinformatics, biophysics, biostatistics, cell biology, developmental biology, epidemiology, genetics, immunology, mathematical and computational biology, microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, pharmacology, physiology, structural biology, and virology. At the time of application, applicants must not have completed one academic year or more of post-baccalaureate study in biological sciences. The following will not preclude eligibility: 1) graduate study that took place more than 10 years prior to application; 2) graduate study toward an MPH degree; 3) study in biological sciences that was toward a medical or dental degree (MD, DO, DDS, or DVM); and 4) graduate study prior to entry into medical or dental school.

Grants for Orchid Research

Qualified research personnel associated with accredited institutions of higher learning or appropriate research institutes may apply for research grants. Support is not restricted to individuals or institutions within the United States. The salary of established scientists is not supported. Qualified graduate students with appropriate interests may apply for grants in support of their research. If justified, their salary may be supported. In general, travel to collect orchids is not supported. Other types of travel may be supported on a case-by-case basis.
