Some states or counties have hundreds of scholarships for which you may qualify.

Avadana Millett Cochran Scholarship

The scholarship shall be awarded to a sophomore or junior collegian member of Alpha Lambda/University of Washington who will pursue an undergraduate degree in the fine arts during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded or a senior collegian or alumna member of Alpha Lambda who will pursue a graduate degree in the fine arts during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. 2. Should no applicants meet #1, the scholarship shall be awarded to a collegian or alumna member of the Fraternity who will pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.

Irma Frazier Jagger Scholarship

The scholarship shall be awarded to a sophomore or junior collegian member of Alpha Lambda/University of Washington who will pursue an undergraduate degree in business administration during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded or a senior collegian or alumna member of Alpha Lambda who will pursue a graduate degree in business administration during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. 2. Should no applicants meet #1, the scholarship shall be awarded to a collegian or alumna member of the Fraternity who will pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded.

Giving primarily in WA, with emphasis on Seattle; giving limited to WA for scholarships

The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship

Source: The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Eligibility: Students who plan to attend accredited independent colleges or universities and who are bona fide residents of Western Washington. It is anticipated that scholarships (other than renewals of previously awarded scholarships) will be limited to entering freshmen, with combined math and verbal SAT scores of over 1200 (or equivalent ACT scores). The Trustees of the Foundation will also consider the applicant's scores on he new writing portion of the SAT. The Edmund F. Maxwell Foundation Scholarship

Believing in the importance of acknowledging the fine accomplishments of high-achieving young people, the Maxwell Foundation is offering financial assistance of up to $5,000 for freshmen starting college. Students who plan to attend accredited independent colleges or universities and who are bona fide residents of Western Washington are urged to apply. It is anticipated that scholarships for that academic year (other than renewals of previously awarded scholarships) will be limited to entering freshmen, with combined math and verbal SAT scores of over 1200 (or equivalent ACT scores). The Trustees of the Foundation will also consider the applicant's scores on the new writing portion of the SAT. The scholarships are designed to provide assistance to those who have demonstrated financial need and have shown ability, aptitude and a promise of useful citizenship. Each recipient will be a living memorial to Edmund F. Maxwell.

Activia Training Annual Scholarship Award

Activia Training are pleased to offer a $1,500 annual scholarship for college, university, high school or trade school students in the US. There is no specific course of study required, and you can use the money in whatever way that you feel benefits your studies the most. There will be two scholarship awards of $750 each year, awarded in November and May as follows: - The video winner will receive $500 - The essay format winner will receive $250 Furthermore, all entries adjudged to be of a suitable standard will be eligible for an “expenses award” as follows: - YouTube videos: $20 - Blog articles: $15 To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be at least 16 years of age and attending, or have secured a place, at a college, university, high school or trade school in the US. APTRA-Clete Roberts/Kathryn Dettman Memorial Journalism Scholarship

Scholarship winners must exhibit enthusiasm, aptitude and a sense of commitment for a career in some aspect of broadcast news. Judges will take into consideration a combination of academic achievement, financial need and broadcast career goals that embody the spirit of Clete Roberts and Kathryn Dettman. All candidates must currently be attending a college or university in one of the 13 APTRA states and be involved in some aspect of broadcast news. To be eligible for APTRA Scholarships, applicants must be a college student currently enrolled at a college or university in one of the 13 APTRA states -- Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. (Incoming freshman and high school seniors are not eligible) Applicants should be pursuing a career in broadcast news. Students enrolled at schools outside the 13 APTRA states are not eligible. Galvanize the Future: An Edgar K Schutz Memorial Scholarship

The American Galvanizers Association’s (AGA) Galvanize the Future: An Edgar K Schutz Memorial Scholarship essay contest was developed to assist future specifiers with the rising cost of a college education. The scholarship is available to full- or part-time undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in an accredited college or university in North America studying architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, material science, or a related field. Three scholarships are awarded annually ($2,500; $1,500; and $1,000) for the top essays submitted. Any full- or part-time, undergraduate or graduate student of any age enrolled at an accredited college or university only in North America. High school students are not eligible to enter this contest. Qualifying majors include architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, construction management, material science, or other related field.

SelectSpace Scholarship

Selectspace scholarship At SelectSpace Partitions, we are proud to offer a scholarship program for students in the process of pursuing a college degree. The awarded student will receive $500 to be used towards expenses for his or her degree. Who may apply? U.S. citizens accepted to or currently attending a college or university within the United States. The winner will be required to provide proof of acceptance to your college or university, or a college transcript. Deadline: Applications must be submitted via the web form by November 30. Next Steps: The award recipient will be notified of the selection on or around December 31. The scholarship award is to be used exclusively for school tuition or related expenses. A check for $500 will be made payable to the award recipient’s college or university. The recipient is expected to submit receipts in accordance with IRS regulations.

Nellie Martin Carman Scholarship

General Regulations: Each appointment for a Carman Scholarship is for one academic or school year in any university or college in the State of Washington. The total amount awarded to any one full-time scholar during any single year will be fixed on an individual basis by the Carman Scholarship Committee, but shall not exceed $2,000. Although each appointment is for one academic year, it may be renewed from year to year until completion of a four-year course of study, on maintenance of a 3.0 average, or equivalent. A Carman Scholarship is tenable only for a course of study having, as its major subject, courses other than music, sculpture, painting, drawing, interior decorating or domestic science. A Carman Scholarship applicant must: (a) be a graduate of a public high school in King, Snohomish or Pierce County in the year of the appointment; and (b) be an American citizen. (c) be enrolled in a college or university in the state of Washington on a full-time basis. Method of Selection: Each public high school in King, Snohomish and Pierce County may nominate one candidate from the senior class. (If senior class enrollment exceeds 400, two candidates may be nominated.) Application blanks are sent to the high schools in January of each year. Procedure for Submitting the Application: The application must include: a. Pages 1-6 of the application. (Obtainable through your high school scholarship counselor.) b. One letter of recommendation. c. Small photograph. d. Completion of the essay. e. Copy of applicant’s FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and SAR (Student Aid Report), when available, or a copy of most recent IRS Income Tax Return 1040 from the person claiming applicant as a dependent. f. Official grade transcript.

Melvin P. Mel and Lyndell Crowder NCW Memorial Horticulture Scholarship

Awarded to a student enrolled in the Tree Fruit Production Program at WVC or Tree Fruit Management in the Horticulture Program at WSU. Possible renewal upon reapplication and acceptance. Career in Horticulture. Giving limited to north central WA; Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties.
