EPWPCOA, Inc. - Member's Scholarships

These scholarships are awarded to members for tuition assistance to pursue any career path that would enhance and improve the water pollution control industry. Any type of schooling: training seminars, three day courses, short courses, Association sponsored seminars, etc. are acceptable. Additionally, if a member desires to pursue a college degree and is going to use their education to contribute to this industry, then they would also be eligible for tuition scholarship. Members should check the Association's training calendar.Basis of Award - Scholarships will be provided on a reward rather than need basis. Student Scholarships may be awarded to member's children who are actively pursuing an education in the environmental field. The scholarship is limited to tuition assistance only at an accredited college. The member must be in good standing with the Association or in good standing at the time of their death.Basis of Award - Scholarships will be provided on a reward rather than need basis. Speedwell Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship

Thanks to the Speedwell Foundation, AFS-USA can provide full scholarships to qualified, academically-strong high school students for an opportunity to broaden their global perspectives. Eligibility requirements: To be eligible for this competitive, merit-based scholarship, you must: Live in or attend a high school within the Susquehanna Valley Area Team located in central Pennsylvania 1. Start an AFS-USA application. 2. Email scholarships@afsusa.org. 3. Attend (with your parents) the AFS Path Online Information Session. 4. Upload your scholarship essays. 5. Complete and submit your AFS-USA online application. Speedwell Scholarship Details No previous language experience is required. A selection committee made up of AFS-USA alumni and volunteers will review applications and essays to determine scholarship recipients. Scholarship application materials submitted after January 15 will not be considered. Scholarship results will be announced in early March. Essay #1 Why do you want to study abroad with AFS-USA? Essay #2 Describe any activities/clubs in which you have held a position of leadership or have demonstrated leadership skills. What leadership characteristics did you exhibit and what did you achieve or learn? Essay #3 Studying abroad is a wonderfully rewarding experience. But, going to school and living with a host family in another country will be stressful at times and will push you outside your comfort zone. Which strategies will you use to navigate difficult situations while in a different cultural environment? Essay #4 When you go on an AFS exchange, you will learn more about what it means to be a citizen of the world. Discuss how you view the responsibility of an AFS student as an ambassador while abroad and upon return to the United States. Questions?
