The Myrtle Siegfried, MD, and Michael Vigilante, MD, Scholarship

Established in 1999, the Myrtle Siegfried, MD, and Michael Vigilante, MD Scholarship is awarded to a qualified first-year medical student residing in Berks, Lehigh, or Northampton County.Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited United States medical school.The scholarship was made possible through a memorial contribution from Elena Pascal, Foundation trustee, and her sister, Carla Vigilante, in honor of their parents, Drs. Siegfried and Vigilante, who practiced medicine in Allentown for over 50 years."Through this endowment we have created a lasting remembrance of our parents and their achievements, and returned something to the profession that my parents so loved," Pascal said.

The Bethany United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund

This application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st. This fund provides up to two scholarships annually for members of Bethany United Methodist Church in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. Limited to residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania.

The Carpenter Technology Retired Employees Scholarship Fund

This application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st. This scholarship was established for children of employees of Carpenter Technology (Berks County site) by Dan Kubacki, who retired from Carpenter Technology after 41 years of service.

Helen M. Clymer Scholarship

This application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st. This scholarship was established to support single mothers who are furthering their education. Limited to residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Jim and Ruth B. Daley Family Fund

This award is not eligible to high school seniors. Eligible individuals must have successfully completed at least one semester or term at an institution of higher education. The purpose of the fund is to support Berks County residents furthering their education at an undergraduate or graduate school. The first preference for distribution from the fund is primarily for living expenses, professional testing fees, books, childcare, transportation, uniforms and other emergency needs. Secondly, the fund will cover tuition or academic fees. Preference will be given to students attending Berks County institutions, with a secondary preference expressed for students attending schools at Pennsylvania institutions located outside of Berks County. Priority will be given based on financial need. Special preference will be given to students studying Electrical Engineering. To be considered for this scholarship, submit this application between January 15th and March 15th. All applicants will be notified in May.

Howard Fox Memorial Law Scholarship

This application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st. This scholarship was established for Berks County students entering their second year at an accredited law school. The fund is in memory of Howard Fox, who was a member of the Berks County Bar Association and an attorney in the Public Defenders Office at the time of his accidental death. Limited to residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania.

Jim Haldeman Berks County 4-H Scholarship

This scholarship was established for members in good standing of the Berks County 4-H Club who best exemplify the fundamental values guiding 4-H members and will attend post-secondary education. The fund is named in memory of Jim Haldeman, a Berks County Agricultural Agent, a Bern Township Supervisor and County Extension Director. Application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st. Limited to residents of Berks County, Pennsylvania.

The Hispanic Center Scholarship

This scholarship was established for academically talented Latinos in Berks County who are pursuing post-secondary education. The fund was established with proceeds from activities during the Reading 250th Anniversary Celebration honoring Latinos in the city. Application must be submitted between January 1st and March 1st.

Byron F. (Corky) Knoll Memorial Scholarship

This fund is for Berks County students who go to college to major in either Professional Turf Grass Management or Professional Golf Management. Application must be submitted online between January 15th and May 2nd.

The Marys Shelter Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was established for current residents of Marys Shelter or Marys Home who are pursuing a college degree or attending a technical training institution. Contact: Marys Shelter

Owl Sports Club Scholarship Fund

This fund provides scholarships to members of the West Lawn Owls Legion baseball team. Application must be submitted online between June 15th and August 15th. Applications will be available on the site on June 15th.

The Community General Hospital Foundation/June A. Roedel Healthcare Scholarship

This scholarship was established for residents of Berks County undertaking or furthering careers in healthcare. The Community General Hospital Foundation established the fund with the guidance of the late civic leader, June A. Roedel. This fund was transferred to Berks County Community Foundation following her death and renamed in her honor. Application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st.

Seidel Family Scholarship

This scholarship is limited to current or former Berks County residents are or will be attending The Dickinson School of Law. Applicants must have lived in Berks County for at least two consecutive years during their secondary school years. Application must be submitted online between January 15th and June 1st.

The Sweet Street Desserts Scholarship

The Thomas T. Wheatley Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for Berks County residents to pursue an education in one of the following medical fields: EMT, Paramedics, Phlebotomy or Nursing. The fund was established in memory of Thomas T. Wheatley, who was a paramedic for more than 22 years. Application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st.

The Jim Brett Global Conservation Education Fund

This scholarship was established for international students who wish to study environmental management and conservation education in Berks County. Unsolicited applications are not accepted.

Junior High West Teacher Memorial Fund

Named in honor of deceased Boyertown Junior High West teachers, this fund makes annual awards to Junior High West students for outstanding achievements in a variety of areas.

The Eppihimer Scholarship

This scholarship was established to support high-school seniors who are residents of the City of Reading who are pursuing education in the computer or nursing fields or vocational or technical training that will lead to employment in the mechanical or industrial trades. Application must be submitted online between January 15th and April 1st

Seidel Family Scholarship

This scholarship was established for residents of Berks County who are attending the Dickinson School of Law of Penn State University. Francis F. Seidel, II established the fund to honor his son, Francis F. Fritz Seidel, III who was a Dickinson School of Law graduate and perished in a 1991 fire with his son.
