S. Hayes Robinson Memorial Dance Scholarship

One non-renewable $1,000 award To qualify for this scholarship, you must be: * a graduating senior of a Buncombe County public or private school or a previous recipient of this award * intending to study and/or seriously participate in any style of performance dance General Criteria: * North Carolina residents * Financial need * Academic achievement and potential, as indicated by class rank, grade point average (GPA) and/or standardized test scores (SAT or ACT) * A history of active participation in school activities, community service, extracurricular activities and/or work experience * Strong moral character

Asheville Young Woman Leadership Award

Eligibility High school junior women who reside in Buncombe County and attend a public or private high school in Buncombe, the NC School of Science and Mathematics, or the UNC School of the Arts. Selection Criteria Extraordinary leadership and noteworthy achievements that have benefited her school and community Good moral character Academic ability/achievement (3.0 GPA minimum weighted) Extracurricular activities Application Procedure To apply, students must complete an application online. Nathaniel Ellis Cannady, Jr. Scholarship

Eligibility Graduating public high school seniors from Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Madison, McDowell, Rutherford and Yancey counties intending to study engineering, construction, project management or information technology. Selection Criteria Academic ability/achievement, as determined by a minimum of 3.0 weighted GPA good performance on standardized tests (SAT or ACT) class rank in the top 30% Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need. Harry W. Clarke Memorial Scholarship Programs – William A. Hart Award

Eligibility Graduating seniors from any public school or certified home school in the 29-county Western North Carolina region to attend a North Carolina two-year community college. Harry W. Clarke Memorial Scholarship Programs – Harry W. Clarke Award

Amount $2,000 renewable for 3 more years Number of Awards One Award Eligibility Graduating seniors from any public high school or certified home school in the 29-county Western North Carolina region to attend a North Carolina four-year college or university. Dr. Brian Ling Memorial Scholarship

Amount One-time $1,000 Number of Awards One Award Eligibility Graduating public and private high school seniors whose primary residence is in Buncombe County and who are interested in pursuing higher education in any healthcare field. Dorothy Peek Scholarship for New Morgan Hill Baptist Church

Amount One-time up to $5,000 Number of Awards Up to Four Awards Eligibility Children of members of New Morgan Hill Baptist Church in Candler, NC, who are between age 17 and 23 and who are enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited undergraduate or technical program in the U.S. Application Procedure To apply, students must complete an application online.
