Davis-Chambers Scholarship Program

The Davis-Chambers Scholarship Program has been established to provide scholarship awards to academically talented, underrepresented racial minority students who are Nebraska residents. The number of scholarships and amount of each scholarship varies according to the availability of funds and the financial need of the recipient(s). Amounts awarded by this scholarship can equal the full cost of college attendance. The Davis-Chambers Scholarship is acknowledged as one of Metropolitan Community College’s most important ways of honoring outstanding Nebraska students.

MCC Academic DEAN Scholarships

Program Specifics: * Funds are awarded by each academic dean. * Scholarships are one-time awards or can be awarded for the academic year. Recipients of annual scholarships will be reviewed by the awarding dean on a quarterly basis to verify continued eligibility. * Academic year ends at the conclusion of the summer term. * Scholarships may be used for tuition, fees, books and other expenses. Eligibility Requirements: * Student must have completed a minimum of 12 credit hours in their program of study at Metropolitan Community College * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at Metropolitan Community College * Application must be accompanied by at least one of the following: 1) Recommendation from a Program Faculty Member or Academic Dean 2) Recommendation from a Community/Service Group 3) Student Essay - Student must explain how this scholarship will support his/her academic goals (250 words or less)

M.L. (Buck) Bohn Memorial Scholarship

This memorial scholarship was created by Robert Bohn in memory of Murray Lamar Bohn (M.L. "Buck" Bohn). This fund shall be used to support tuition, fees, and books to a student who has a declared major in either Construction Technology or Industrial and Commercial Trades. * Pursing an associate degree in Construction Technology or Industrial Commercial Trades * Financial need may be considered but is not required * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Full-time Student * Member of Phi Theta Kappa

Cornhusker International/Childers Diesel Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Rick Childers and Cornhusker International to help students with their academic goals at MCC in the Diesel Service Technology Program. * Financial need may be considered but is not required * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Pursuing an associate degree in Diesel Technology * To be used to purchase tools * Completed 7 credit hours in the Diesel Service Program

Joseph W. Hughes Memorial Scholarship

This fund was established by Diane Hughes, wife of Joseph Hughes. This scholarship is available to students majoring in Civil Engineering . This fund shall be used to support tuition, fees, and books. * Pursuing an associate degree or a certificate in Civil Engineering Technology * Financial need may be considered but is not required * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * U.S. Citizenship required * Completed 15 credit hours or more at MCC

Kyle Lavigne Memorial Scholarship–Diesel Technology

This scholarship was established by family and friends to honor Kyle's dedication for diesel technology. This scholarship will be available to students seeking a diesel technology degree at MCC. * Financial need may be considered but is not required * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Pursuing an associate degree in Diesel Technology * To be used to purchase tools

Business Administration Division Scholarship

This scholarship is to provide assistance to students who are majoring in an area of the Business Administration Division. * Pursuing a degree in the Business Administrative Division (including Legal Assistant) * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Enrolled in at least two certificate or degree related course each quarter.

Todd McHenry Memorial Scholarship

This memorial scholarship was established in honor of Todd McHenry to help students majoring in the Legal Assistant program. * Majoring in the Legal Assistant Program * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Completed at least 15 credit hours or more in the Legal Assistant degree program.

Jonathon Zimmern Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Jonathon E. Zimmern's family in memory of John and his love of teaching. John taught accounting at MCC for over 20 years. The recipient must be a student majoring in the accounting program. * Financial need may be considered but is not required * Majoring in Accounting * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at MCC at or above 1000 level courses

Audren Swanson Memorial Scholarship

The Audren Swanson Memorial Scholarship was created for agricultural-related programs. Audren Swanson was raised in north central Nebraska where he became a successful farmer. This scholarship was set up in his honor to help students further their education. * Financial need is required * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Pursuing an associate degree or certificate program in Horticulture

Brandon Thomas Culinary Arts Memorial Scholarship

Culinary Arts and Management Scholarship

The Culinary Arts Management Scholarship was established in October 2001, for students majoring in the culinary arts field.

David/Bernie Epstein Memorial Culinology Scholarship

Art Epstein, Ph.D. created this memorial scholarship to honor his father David B. and his brother Bernie. The Epstein family were co-founders of the Peoples Produce in the Old Market and Midwest Foods in Omaha. The methods the Epstein family used in their production methods were considered some of the best of Omaha. * Majoring in Culinary Arts & Management with a Culinology option * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 * Written recommendation required by 1 faculty or non-relative * Citizenship not required, but must be living/working legally in the U.S.

Donald Knapp Scholarship

This pre-engineering and science scholarship is in memory of Donald R. Knapp, established by his daughter Patricia Knapp Smith. The scholarship is based on the recipient's desire to succeed, citizenship, participation in school, community service and academic performance. * Financial need is required * Majoring in science or pre-engineering program * Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 * Omaha Public School Graduate/Student

Marion-Lefebvre Wakefield Jacob Scholarship

This scholarship was established by John Jeanetta and family, in honor of his grandmother, Marion-Lefebvre Wakefield Jacob. The recipient must be majoring in the Horticulture field. The funds shall be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Certified Nursing Assistant Scholarship

This scholarship was established by Heidi Donner an MCC alum in honor of her parents Donovan and Anita Donner. This fund provides support to students majoring in a Nursing degree.
