Minnesota Scholarships

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a two- or four-year degree in agronomy, crop science, agricultural communications, education, journalism, extension, public relations, business management, economics, finance, sales, marketing, plant pathology/breeding/genetics, soil science or soil/water conservation. One scholarship will be awarded to resident of Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Two scholarships each will be awarded to residents of Iowa and Nebraska. Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale required.AWARD: 17 scholarships at $1,500 each, non-renewable

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a four-year degree in animal, dairy or poultry science with a preference in poultry. Resident of Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, Kansas, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri or Illinois (in that order) planning to attend Iowa State University, University of Nebraska, University of Minnesota, the University of Missouri, Kansas State University, University of Illinois (Urbana) or South Dakota State University. Minimum 2.75 GPA on a 4.0 scale required.AWARD: Two scholarships at $1,500 each, non-renewable

ELIGIBILITY: Pursuing a four-year degree in select areas of agriculture, agribusiness management, communications, education, journalism, extension, public relations, finance, economics, sales, marketing, engineering, mechanization, technology, plant pathology, plant/animal breeding and genetics, range/soil science or public service and administration in agriculture. Resident of Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin or Wyoming required. No more than one scholarship per state.AWARD: 10 scholarships at $2,000 each, non-renewable.

Awards Given: 1 Student Type: All Students Area: Greater Itasca County Area (Priority may be given to the Grand Rapids Area.) Renewable: No Criteria: The ideal candidate for this scholarship is interested in pursuing a career in aviation. This scholarship may be used for aviation related education or flight hours. Recipients are limited to one, $2,500 scholarship and must attend an approved and accredited program.

Eligible students will: Write an essay of no fewer than 600 words about their career aspirations and how their current course load will help them achieve success in their careers. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now? Thinking outside the box is encouraged! Program Description:The HSF/Hormel Scholarship Program is a scholarship of $2,500 awarded for applicants interested in a career in the food industry.In addition, interested students can apply to be considered for a paid internship. Eligibility Requirements: * Be of Hispanic heritage * Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the United States with a valid Social Security Number at the time of application. All legal permanent residents must submit a copy of their valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551 (not expired) * Have a permanent address in one of the following Midwest states: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin * Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale * Be a Junior with an intended graduation date between December and August * Be majoring in Accounting, Mechanical Engineering (includes Mechanical Technology), Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering/Technology (includes Industrial Management) Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration (includes Operations), Management, Agriculture Science/Agronomy (includes Agriculture Engineering, Agribusiness, Ag Economics, Food Service), Computer Science, Information Technology (IT/MIS) (includes Computer Information Systems), Zoology (includes Animal Science), Marketing (includes Professional Selling), Hospitality Administration (includes Hotel/Restaurant Management) or related majors * Must apply for federal financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Recipients must be a member of Alpha Iota/Washington University in St. Louis (D) or a member of Theta who is majoring in elementary or secondary education in the Midwest. (Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Missouri.)

Grants are limited to students from northern MN, attending accredited colleges and universities of their choice, who are majoring in one of the basic sciences or medicine, and can show evidence of need for financial assistance.

Although this scholarship is open to anyone seeking a higher education, special consideration will be give to anyone pursuing a degree in entomology or a related field. Visit our website for requirements and to fill out the scholarship form.

For college sophmores, juniors and seniors who are majoring in accounting. Amount: 25 scholarships at $1,000 each Requirements: Academic record, financial need, involvement in extra-curricular activities, intent to sit for the CPA Exam; Minnesota resident.

Carlson Caspers' Diversity Scholarship Program annually provides up to two $5,000 scholarships to prospective law students who are pursuing or who have obtained a degree in chemistry, physics, life sciences, pharmacy, engineering, or computer science and who are committed to practicing intellectual property law in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Scholarship recipients will be considered for a paid internship at Carlson Caspers during the summer prior to entering law school and will be considered for a paid clerkship during the summers after their first and second years of law school.

This endowed scholarship program was established in 1982 by the family of the late Hugh J. Andersen who was an active supporter of and generous contributor to NMF's programs. Up to five awards are annually presented to Minnesota residents enrolled beyond their first-year in any accredited U.S. medical school.
