Elbert Curtiss Fisher & Margaret Nienstedt Fisher Scholarships

When Margaret Fisher passed away in New York in 1965, she left instructions in her will that a scholarship fund was to be created in the name of her parents. Margaret’s mother, Margaret Nienstedt Fisher, was the daughter of Saginaw “pioneers” and her fatherwas a Mechanical Engineer and a member of the Board of Education for the Saginaw Public School District. This scholarship is to assist graduating students from any public school in Saginaw in their pursuit of a degree in science or engineering, or a Liberal Arts Degree. Qualifications: ● Graduating senior from a Saginaw Public School ● Female pursuing a liberal arts degree, or a male pursuing a science/engineering degree ● Pursuing a liberal arts degree ● Must reside in the Saginaw Public School District ● Full-time enrollment Criteria: Scholastic record; financial need; overall involvement in community, school and work activities.

Mary Ellen Gase Scholarship

The Mary Ellen Gase Scholarship was created for talented voice and keyboard music students to pursue college studies in music education or performance and to share their love of music with the community. Qualifications: ● Minimum 3.0 GPA ● High school senior in voice/keyboard from Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy (SASA), or choir at Arthur Hill High School or Saginaw High School ● Four semesters in choir or voice/keyboard department ● Pursuing undergraduate degree in choral or keyboard music education or performance ● Full-time enrollment Criteria: Audition tape in voice, piano or organ (30); music achievements, honors or awards (30); scholastic record (10); essay on career goals (10); community involvement/leadership (10); recommendations (10). Bonus points will be awarded based on the length of time spent studying in the voice/keyboard department at SASA or choir at Arthur Hill or Saginaw High School. (up to 4 points).

Innovation in Education Scholarship

LA Tutors awards a monthly $500 Innovation Scholarship to high school and college students who showcase their creativity and make a positive impact.

Bay Commitment Scholarship

The Bay Commitment Scholarship was established by the Bay Area Community Foundation to investigate the long-term viability and funds required for an educational promise program in Bay County. Students applying for these scholarships must meet the following criteria: Be a first-generation student (neither parent nor legal guardian has obtained a Bachelors Degree) Have been a resident of Bay County for 6 years Have attended Bay County high school/s for 4 years Meet all high school graduation requirements and receive a diploma from a Bay County high school by June Attend either Delta College or Saginaw Valley State University full-time (minimum 12 credit hours) in the fall

MSPE Scholarship Trust Grant

Eligibility Requirements: A high school senior and a resident of Michigan, and a citizen of the United States at the time of application. Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades. Attain a minimum composite test score of 26 on the American College Testing Program (ACT). Must be accepted at a Michigan ABET accredited college or university and enroll in an engineering program. Scholarship awards are contingent upon acceptance for admission and an intent to earn a degree in engineering and enter the practice of engineering after graduation. Submit a list of senior classes being taken.

MSPE Auxiliary Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: A high school senior and a resident of Michigan. A citizen of the United States at the time of application. Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades. Attain a minimum composite test score of 26 on the American College Testing Program (ACT). Must be accepted at a Michigan ABET accredited college or university and enroll in an engineering program. Scholarship awards are contingent upon acceptance for admission and an intent to earn a degree in engineering and enter the practice of engineering after graduation. Submit a list of senior classes being taken.

University of Detroit Mercy Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: A high school senior and a resident of Michigan. A citizen of the United States at the time of application. Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades. Attain a minimum composite test score of 26 on the American College Testing Program (ACT). Must be enrolled in engineering at University of Detroit Mercy. Submit a list of senior classes being taken.

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor Scholarships

Eligibility Requirements: A high school senior and a resident of Michigan. A citizen of the United States at the time of application. Have at least a 3.0 grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale) for the 10th and 11th grades. Attain a minimum composite test score of 26 on the American College Testing Program (ACT). Must be enrolled in engineering at University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Submit a list of senior classes being taken.

MusicAuthority’s Annual Music Lovers Scholarship

MusicAuthority recognizes the positive impact that music can have on a student’s learning experience. Studies have shown how music can enhance learning- from improving memory performance to relieving anxiety, music can be a great component to aid a student’s college experience. We are proud to offer our $1,000 scholarship to one current or prospective student. We will be offering this scholarship on a continual basis and we are excited to promote a passion for music and higher education.

Scholarships for Private Lessons

The Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra supports music education for middle and high school students. Students in financial need receive private lessons with the help of KSO and Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra League support.

George L. Disborough Trout Unlimited Research Grant

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION This research grant was established by the Kalamazoo Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (KVCTU) for the purpose of recognizing and supporting studies of trout habitat or other projects consistent with the goals and objectives of Trout Unlimited. KVCTU's goals are to preserve wild rivers, clean up polluted waters, maintain early warning Water Quality Surveillance programs, educate the public through workshops and seminars, and speak for the concerns of all anglers and conservationists. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The grant will be awarded based on the merit of the proposed project and not on the financial need of the applicant. The project must be consistent with the mission of Trout Unlimited and take place in North America. The recipient must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident Alien and a graduate student at an accredited college or university. Normally the grant will be for one year. However it is possible that the grantee may apply again providing the applicant is able to demonstrate the merit of another grant. The mission of the Kalamazoo Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited is to preserve protect and enhance cold-water resources.

Tractor Supply Company Scholarship

ELIGIBILITY: Pursing a four-year degree in any area of agriculture. Applicant must complete financial analysis section of application and exhibit financial need. Resident of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia or Wisconsin required. Recipients shall allow Tractor Supply Company to use photographs of themselves and their families in company advertising.AWARD: Approximately one scholarship at $3,000. Not guaranteed.
